O.K. I know I haven't posted any pictures...
But I got enough stuff done, and finally got a head with this pinball project from hell...
Stand by for some pictures...
On a side note.. I wish I could add sound fx's.
I will do what I can to night...
Regards.

Goodness that’s atrocious
Nibbler isn’t even on the 60in1 is it
More insult to injury
There are plenty of empty poker cabinets to use.
Yikes

Post in the “Heads missing” thread! I’ve got a few games without heads and eventually you’ll be able to reunite a whole game

If someone had a Rockola-style cabinet made and did it up nicely, they could probably get a decent amount for Nibbler. Which cocktail pin is that cabinet?

You learn something new everyday. I always knew them as mud daubers. Google Search to the rescue.

I was not expecting a lesson about the flora and fauna on a pinball website.

#2565 3 years ago

I had a couple of nests in the backbox of a Judge Dredd. Didn't seem to cause any problems, just looked ugly.

#2566 3 years ago

Couldn't find the picture of before I started removal, but had a bunch of those nests in my F14

And they will say,......." Where did you find it at? We hauled a truck load of pinball stuff to the dump and that cab must have fallen of the truck because is was not there when we got to the dump. So we went ahead and dumped the other pinball stuff anyway. "

I’ll ask what dump it was and call them up. Don’t care how long ago it was! Pinball is always worth an attempt!

That's an enterprising thought, if not a noble thought.

Several years ago, a cleaning crew was doing the evening cleaning for an office of attorneys. In the hallway was a large stack of file storage boxes. Those boxes were loaded up and hauled to the landfill. Trouble was, it boxes were not trash. They had been placed the hallway for some reason and no one thought to contact the cleaning people to say "DON"T THROW AWAY". They just assumed the cleaning people would leave them alone.

When the lawyers arrived in the morning they saw they were in trouble. They called the landfill. They were planning to go landfill diving to find all of those boxes of files that represented many months of work.

As I recall from the news article, the landfill said the lawyers could come and look around. The landfill knew what quadrant and what area the boxes were dropped at. But the landfill also said that "your boxes" are already ten feet under and spread around by the machinery.

I don't know how it resolved but I believe the lawyers had to double up and redo all of the previous work that was tossed.

If any pin parts were taken to the landfill, you would never find them unless you were there when they were tossed.

Reminds me of those ET cartridges. (Skip to 54min for the spoiler after watching the intro if your in a hurry, but it's worth watching for the story of Atari.)

Walk, don't run... termites are nothing to roll the dice on... hope you aren't bringing that into your home prior to professionally fumigating that bad boy.

Agreed. I've moved plenty strapped down with the legs on, though I did care to use better/more straps. As far as the heads being up, that kills me to see. Heads get damaged, as well as the support underneath them. He gets moving fast enough and it'll rip the shit right off the cabinet. Something tells me a person that transports pins that way probably also left the backglass in them instead of putting it somewhere safer, like the back seat, wrapped in a blanket..

That reminds me of a story...

My dad repaired coin-op before I was born and he started an un-related business, but we were always passionate about pinball. I remember one morning when I was like 10 or so he came back from picking up breakfast at McDonalds and explained he was behind some guy in the drive through that had an Eight Ball Deluxe stood up but tied down in the back of his pickup and ran the backbox (with backglass) right into one of the old-style height restriction arms... Backglass of course broke and he said there was a ton of cabinet damage because the backbox didn't break but the cabinet mounting area did. No pictures of the damage since this was late 1990s and people didn't just carry film cameras back then.

What? People didn’t waste their time taking pictures of the food they ate, or cliff they almost fell off of, or some goofy thing their pet did? What was wrong with them?
