Quoted from aobrien5:

Wish I'd read this before spending 4 months trying to sell my nice JP for $2200. Who knew I should've been asking $4K!

Locally there was one that sold for $1500-$1600, I'm not seeing $4000 for a JP either.

You point at Ebay when you are trying to sucker someone in that they are getting a deal. Its like trying to justify the price tag of the rotting hulk you have for sale based on what stuff is selling for at a Barrett-Jackson car auction.

Ebay is used for global advertising, the real cash trades hands behind the scenes.

You know how many pins I have seen "sold" on ebay for some ridiculous price.... and it shows up for sale again week after week.. at the same location?

#952 6 years ago
Quoted from wantdataeast:

If empirical data on eBay's closing prices or websites that keep track of such prices causes you to "BAHAHAHAHAAHA!!!"
You don't need to go to another state to find new drugs... what ever you are currently smoking now is doing the job just fine.

Dude...give it up. Wrong thread.
Start your own hyping my Jurrasic Park pin for high dollar thread sale.
Or, whats this pin worth thread? There you might find suckers to by your overpriced JP.
And if your not selling, why you wasting your time here?
2500 tops, 3000 with ColorDmd. Gate mod too!
Personally its a game i would never buy. Fun to play, but staying power in my home collection, maybe 3 months. And yes, ive had one, was never even promoted past garage.

Should be an easy fix....owner then just didn't have the time
I would recommend just putting new felt over it!

Id be half tempted to call on that one. Sometimes a situation like that could mean you walking out with several pins for a grand. Sometimes the seller is just delusional and wants a crazy amount and will not budge but others they just have no idea as the real value.

It's almost crazy to see the game up and running with that kind of cabinet! You would think playfield and eventually boards etc would have probs too.

Maybe a transplanted set of parts into a rough cab?

It could have been exposed to the elements. I've seen games that were in open air facilities where the cabinets looked similar to that (but not as bad).

I hate to say it Dayhuff, but that Secret Service may require 2 fuses to fix! A single fuse probably ain't gonna do it!

Is that the new assemble-it-yourself pinball kit that everybody has been asking for? Cool! For a thousand bucks more will JPop and BenHeck assemble it for me in my gameroom?

Old barns in Ontario. Apparently 150 vids/pins. Most exposed to the elements.

Assuming they are cheap, there's always good usable parts in such pins.

But how cool would it be to go through it all? I assume you have more pictures?

#982 6 years ago

I cringe every time I see an ad that says BARN FIND. The rust that must be on those. But I am sure he says they are rare.

You would be shocked what a tumbler and an ultrasonic cleaner would take care of

#984 6 years ago

I haven't seen the place. One of the league guys found it.
No pleasant pictures. All sad.

I want to rescue this Tempest though:

Probably some rare treasures hiding in there.

I picked up this rare bird from a warehouse local to me. It's a Hang on caberet. I haven't fully gone through the 1 warehouse yet and have 4 more to go on top of that.

No offense. But this is a "pinball" thread.

If we go arcade the next thing you know it will be "Cargument" time.

True, but I was thinking water damage. No ultrasonics can fix that against wood.

Quoted from Grayman_EM:

I mean unless the game is directly outside then there isn't a whole lot of difference between stored in a barn and stored in a non temp controlled warehouse. Both reach extreme temps. Both are exposed to rodents. Both are exposed to moisture. If it's a dirt floor and the game is sitting on it with no legs I get it but for the most part it should be fine. Obviously the barn in the picture is not the highest quality of structures. Probably a lot of weather exposure. But most barn finds aren't that bad

Quoted from Taxman:

If it's from the same group of horror finds as the pinballs, I fail to see the problem ... I mean there are SOOO many posts that derail from the thread topic worse.

Now if it was a arcade warehouse raid, then yes....diff thread. A couple arcades found at same place as the pinballs that were found though....meh; unless it goes on about arcades for the next 5 pages.....no biggie to me. It's still coin op hobby and interesting.

If it is just thrown in pics not from a pinball find, again I agree that it belongs elsewhere.

Let's talk about the dirty neglected pinballs behind that arcade game in pic!

Lol. Just realized that your pic may be from where you found pins/arcades or in your own place...if it's your place, sorry for the comment about dirty and neglected pinballs (that was an assumption since I thought pics were all from the location they were found).

Oh I didn't realize I would hurt feeling by only wanting to talk about pinball on a pinball site. My bad. I guess the thread title should just read "horror pics!!" and not "pinball horror pics!!"

OMFG SPACE JAM! Gimme! :b Who wants the JP? we can split shipping

Whoever is holding a bunch of cheap Space Jam pins once the millennials start collecting is gonna hit pay dirt.

Very guilty. I don't get why people hate that movie. It was really corny and charming!
