Quoted from vid1900:Sometimes you can't look away.
especially important when trying to paint a straight edge

Yup...good eye. BM66. From the cab thread...thought it would be fitting over here.
Anyone know if that globetrotters is recent. I would love to get the playfield for parts on the bottom....
Last year I got this Black Knight from a guy who said he bought it from a guy who said it began it's life in a bowling alley, but then spent 15 years in a shed without the glass on. That isn't just dust on the playfield; it's baked on and as coarse as 100 grit sandpaper.
I got her all cleaned up though with a much nicer hand-me-down playfield:

Quoted from Colsond3:Wow, what a shame
Quoted from Taxman:Yes, those flippers are way off.
...and it's missing a pop bumper cap, and one of the drop targets. Sheesh!
Poor Bally Playboy.

That knight hasn't got any legs!

WOW!Look at the colours on that cabinet.
Quoted from Star_Gazer:Going to keep them here forever and ever..
What a waste with them just sitting there...
Quoted from merccat:At least someone removed the batteries in time....
That sideart actually had red in it at some point.

Probably some hungry kids that no longer get school lunches.

I worked in the caf in middle school washing dishes for our "free" lunch.

A few dabs of glue, and you'll be ready to roll

Yup... then slap an overlay on then the game is good as new...
Actually, it *might* be possible to level it out since the delamination has only progressed an inch or so in, but it will first be a practice playfield.
Oh and I worked in the school cafeteria for lunch myself lol... plus did it through my 3 years of high school as well.
Next week Bosch is replacing our dishwasher... nows my chance to load up the remains
I forget... with or without soap? I'm sure I'll find it somewhere.
Quoted from koen12344:Haunte Ho backglass, anyone?
I'm guessing that one will get a lot of red lights installed
I don't think I have posted these yet...
Someone left Dolly out in the weather. She'll never get played again but her guts will live on in a Bally Star Trek scratch-built machine.

Mr & Mrs PacMan suffered the same fate. Most of the machinery there will end up in my KISS and EBD.

Why. Just, why? It's a players level Mystic that I would like to restore and play. Add wiring harness to the to-do list. Seriously, why? Is it easier to store without all the wire and connectors? Its not like they cut it off to sell it for anything but scrap!

Dolly just needs a little CP100....
Really, what a shame...those are some depressing pics. At least you're able to salvage some parts. And I do not understand why you ever see cut harnesses. No idea what people are thinking sometimes...or they are just clearly not.
Not the worst but this is an EBD project that I picked up recently. The dirtiest Bally game I have purchased so far. I'm going to restore it but took some before pics while removing the transformer assembly. The last pic is the plate after I bead blasted it.
That thing is beyond dirty. Wow...what a shitshow. Good luck on the restore, and thanks for saving another one and hopefully getting it back into circulation. Is that brown fluid sticky?
This is one of those times where you lift the playfield and all you're thinking is "what...the...f@#$"?

I got a Gottlieb Atlantis for free once that came from a home where it had sat for 25+ years. Cosmetically the game was beautiful. Basically perfect backglass, playfield and cabinet. It was just a little dirty from it's short life at a VFW. It didn't work though. When I opened it up, most of the wires had been cut below the playfield. I asked the guy if he knew what happened and he said that when he was a kid, they opened up the game and pretended they were diffusing a bomb by cutting the wires. No joke.

At least you're restoring a classic.
Not many games better than ol' Eight Ball Deluxe.

Yep, It will be back in circulation some day. IDK what the gunk is inside, it is slightly sticky. I'm thinking someone had the pf up and spilled something in there. It's too far away from the lockdown where typical liquid spills end up in the cab.

Yes, I haven't met a person that doesn't like EBD. I currently on my 3rd EBD resto. Have 3 more to do after this.

Looks like it would taste like cinnamon....or motor oil. Plate cleaned up nicely though, now for the rest of the game.
