I also saw that ad... In what condition is it apart from the cabinet?

#453 3 years ago

That's definitely been somewhere damp for a loooooooooooong time

#454 3 years ago

It's not that bad... except for the panel delaminating along the corner. The bottom panel gets ugly like that with almost nothing. If it's all swollen and flaking.. or has fuzzy mold.. then you have bigger issues

#455 3 years ago

Pretty easy to find an empty cab and then do a decal job. Big question is how is the playfield, boards, and metal parts?

That TZ looks like a four year olds toy chest with all the crap just heaved into it...trashy imo.

I don't think that was caused by the mpu..... Looks like there were a few machines at a warehouse somewhere that burned, this was 1 of the few that was offered for sale by coin op warehouse.

Coinopwarehouse be like "Rocky and Bullwinkle, minor damage, untested. $2000."

No joke. And 7 minutes later it'd be sold and destined for Europe. Lloyd gets a hell of a premium out of that Euro contingent for his capability to hold until they have a full container, and then load and manage delivery to the dock. Kudos to him - dude knows his market.

It is a neat business motto. BUt he actually has alot that does not go overseas. Thats what i dont get.

I know several of his overseas buyers as i ship containers over to them full of video games myself. And they pay quite well and without questions, the best kind of buyer you want

Not a pinball horror story , Just the most burnt black and melted coil i've ever seen ,
Fixed a guys williams Jackpot the other day ,
The kids were playing it , no adults in the room , One kid came out and said to the owner , The pinball machine is on FIRE!.
The owner raced in and the room was full of smoke , no fire luckily. owner turned game off at the wall . The fuse was blown when i went over to repair the game .
This was the step up coil from the Match unit ...

I would. I do it on a daily basis as my job.

I sell allot to them also, mainly to Germany and you are 100% correct, to them our asking prices here are a steal compared to over there even for common titles. In 2013 I sold 13 classics to a German buyer all at once for exactly what I was asking, no questions asked. I sent pics, he paid immediately after and both parties were happy.

Most of the time, when I find classic bally/stern displays, the glass can be bad, and maybe some components are a little heat stressed. But this one really takes the cake.

I've never seen this much dirt on a board before.

But, it looks like it cleaned up pretty well and could be a serviceable board if the spider chips are ok.

Getaway that was in a fire. All plastics have damage. Not many useable parts left here
And a bit of novus won't do to clean everything

I think that was Eric A's. He was working on that one a couple of years ago.

Looks like mud dabber wasp nests that were broken off. I've seen that before on games that spent some time outside (e.g., on a porch).

Looks like a mud dauber nest was knocked off there. Got a few patches like that on the wall of my carport that I need to hose off.

edit - jinx!

Is That Fire Damage or Just thick dust ?

Quoted from Ralph67:

Is That Fire Damage or Just thick dust ?

Looks like thick dust -- by the looks of the spots that have been cleaned off. Fire soot would cause more damage.

#482 2 years ago

Just plain dust. The white something could be bird droppings of some sort. Would imagine that the backbox was stored for years lying on the back with backglass and display door removed to end up like this.
All boards survived if I remember correctly.

hey look at that. Stargate saved the day by holding up the entire building. Because Gottlieb system 3's are built like brick shithouses. Built better than anyone else.

No, actually they shoved the game in after the collapse started. They did not want to ruin a good 2x4.

if it was a SF2 , i'd say sure. the beam is more valuable than the game. But this is Stargate. It's a top 10 game of all time. Actually the only system 3 that is even close to the top 10. Well, my top 10 anyway.

The bucket of water on SF2 is a mod. In case you feel like drowning yourself while playing you can just lean over.

I'm just being funny. Stargate is not one of my favorite games, but after having to play DE Simpsons in a tournament this weekend I dislike it less.

The first picture with Ice Fever, Touchdown and Gold Wings is the worst of that basement bunch. I could not get rid of TD fast enough and actually passed on a free GW because I didn't want to drive an hour each way. The backglass was missing but that actually makes it better.

I'd put SG as #2 with SST as my favorite in that bunch. From those pictures I would say SST has a real good chance of being easily salvageable.

Reminds me of a dirty diaper bump. Poor F-14. It lost control of its life and shit its transformer.

i'm a fan of SST as well. SST is a top 25 for me. Which is unique because there isn't any showcase Segas I care for, beyond that. Golden eye is ok tho.

The ball is going to get stuck, playing that game.

Only thing worse than insert cupping is when the playfield warped so high up that the inserts almost cease to exist!
