My daughter, who is much more versed in social media than I, has been bugging me to find "Pinball Hall of Fame" trading cards that she has seen on the internet. I checked Tim's site, but didn't see anything there. Anyone know what she's talking about? She says Steve Ritchie - her hero - has one and she "must have it". LOL.

Pretty cool when you think about a 14 year old having heroes that are pinball designers. So, here I am, diligent dad, reaching out to see if anyone can help me out? Thanks in advance.

I don't believe the cards have anything to do with The Pinball HOF, but are published by some big gaming site that does them mainly for video games. I can't think of the site. If you look at the 2014 Expo program (was posted on Pinside somewhere) I think they were in there. Not sure how to buy them though.

Hi there, I was pointed to this thread by a Facebook message.
I believe you would be describing the Trading Cards by Walter Day.

We did recently portray the complete PINBALL EXPO Hall of Fame in trading cards for the 2014 Expo recently. Giving out over 50,000 trading cards in just 2 days. I would suspect a large quantity of cards went to Pinsiders if there is a desire for swappin' cards.

The project started in 2010 and has been going strong on a grass roots level, but we don't have a distribution model other than live events where Walter attends. And because we strongly believe in the people we represent on the cards, the above link has full size Award images you can have printed at any Kinko's or print shop on 12x18 inch paper, usually about $1 a print.

I gave out all of my complete trading card sets to fans and quite a few kids so I'll have to build some more full sets this winter. Please contact [email protected] to see about getting something sent to your daughter. Steve Ritchie has been a major supporter of the project but I am out of anything signed by him right now but he is easy to find on Facebook, once you get our cards in hand.
    cheers.

PS- Steam is mentioned above. Interesting story, in October 2013 I approached Pinball Arcade about doing their story on a trading card. They never followed up, BUT I discovered in November they added Steam trading cards to their pinball app. ha ha ha, classic. But our trading cards are real and many hours are put into carefully designing the art and stories directly from the persons behind the content. Hope you enjoy.

Mark, thanks for the cards. I picked some up at EXPO and so many pinball icons are portrayed in these cards. It was a really great gesture and my kids enjoyed seeing them when I arrived home.

    Thank you!

Thank you so much for responding to my post! I have showed her the link you sent and she has confirmed it is the Walter Day Pinball Expo Hall of Fame cards. If my efforts are successful you will have enabled me to please a very special girl. This means a great deal to me, and especially to her.
    Sincerely,

Murphy, I grabbed a set of the Hall of Fame cards out of our storage for you. Please message me your postal address.

Please note that Suzanne Ciani is not in the set as we have none to give out, she was so popular at Expo 2013 that we gave out almost all of her cards. You will have to search around and find someone who would have extras of her card, possibly Star Worlds Arcade in DeKalb, IL as they helped in 2013 with the card distribution.

I have duplicates of 3-4 cards from Expo if anyone wants to trade. I don't have many overall. I missed the big selection as I was in the seminars when they were put out....

we gave out over 50,000 cards between Friday morning and Saturday after the banquet...any that were left in the grab box went to Jim Zespy's Logan Hardware Arcade. He was a major sponsor of card printing this year. might hit him up.

Metallica & Python were also very minimally represented as they were given out earlier in year prior to Python's passing.

Mark you are TOO KIND! PM has been sent. I want all to know what a great guy you are, and that my daughter is going to be thrilled! At 14 she can name all the great designers and tables that they have made, but Steve Ritchie is her Favorite, with a close second being Dennis Nordman.

once she read some more stories, I suspect you'll start hearing names like Zale, Krynski, Neyens, McAdams, Clark... the 2 pieces of info I never knew but found neat. Alvin Gottlieb started a hospital and Judd Weinberg has a college named after him at Northwestern. Or that the Gensburg brothers were a big deal in the Las Vegas casino world. tons of history out there, someday I'll find one of Dick Bueschel's books and learn a bit more.

    cheers.

MarkH-555 really cool gesture to send a set to Murphy's daughter. Well played.

I'm personally not into trading cards or autographs and some of the categories were I'm sorry to say a bit odd. "Sexiest pinball player?"

But if a 14 year old girl enjoys collecting it - it's worth the effort.

yah, that one in particular was tongue in cheek as you will find that is exactly how that distributor in the netherland's promotes itself- https://www.facebook.com/MinistryofPinball
Probably doesn't translate to American crowd, but it was intended to add some "humor."
