It's an hour walk around the airport. However, I believe you could take a shuttle to Mandalay bay for free (last time I checked I don't think they verify you have a reservation), then it IS a short walk to the PHOF.
Whenever I go to Vegas I go to the PHOF as much as possible and have more fun there than any casino. The plethra of games opened my eyes to very awesome titles that I otherwise wouldn't be able to play here in Denver. Thanks for all the good times and more to come. I guess it gives me a reason to stay on the strip now as I would rather stay downtown and didn't mind the drive. I'll have to contribute just cause this place kick ass and want it to stay. I'm going to donate. My wife and I had a conversation with Tim years ago and found out he lived in our home town (Duluth, MN) many many years ago. We now consider him a homie. And, we've always enjoyed stopping in when in Vegas.
Great news Tim. Thanks for doing this and for all you do for the pin community. I was never able to make one of your party nights, but when I was in town for a convention in the nineties (pre-PHOF), I called you up and asked if I could come out to your house. You were awesome to me...went out to the big building and saw stacks and stacks of pins along with the however many you had setup to play...you turned on all the power and told me to have fun...Can't remember how many games I played or how long I stayed, but what a great time. I'll never forget it. Donation made.

I'm sure we're way ahead of ourselves, but the design looks cool to me. Unless you're going with the 3D model, which costs thousands, a cast token needs to be essentially be a one color design. Essentially either raised or not raised. Something like this.

Were you working on that as the same time as me? If so it's kind of neat that we came to the same realization on solution to the shooting star. I tried a few different options for that area, but decided the outline was the best solution.

Depends on the income.
You have to offset the cost of borrowing a million dollars.
It might cost less to close temporarily (and have access to 2 million dollars interest free) than to make the monthly payment.

5% over 15 years (but paid off before that date) is $7,900 per month
35% over 15 years is 29.3k per month
From what I've seen on tax filings for PHOF, Tim grosses between $500k-million per year.. So he's still going to be cash positive, but that's still money out the window to pay interest.

What I like about Tim & PHOF is he has always done it his way - on his terms - then gives all the profits to charity. How can you do any better than that in life?
Now it is time for the pinball community to step up - reach into their pockets and keep Tim from having to pay a ton of interest on borrowed money. If 1000 people send just $100 it would cover 10% of his current shortfall. If a few people give a little more and maybe some vendors touch base with him about doing some advertising for them in exchange for a bigger donation (maybe something like a 3x5' banner on the wall for a $1000 donation (or whatever) - which would be tax deductible for that vendor since PHOF is a non-profit) and next thing you know between that and Tim kicking in some of his profits from this year and all of a sudden there is no "bridge loan".
A few people doing just a little COULD be a huge help here. Even just $10 or $20 from a few hundred people could be HUGE. I will do my part as soon as I have some extra cash but for now I just wanted to give this post a little bump and tell Tim to keep up the great work!

i'm guessing that TA personally is the 'bank' here and he's taking home going rate for a loan to the LVPCC for the year. Its not likely that a bank is going to loan a bunch of pirates any money, regardless of the amount let alone the location. So if TA is loaning the LVPCC the money for the bridge good for him, good for pinball, and good that he personally takes his money at risk (whatever that may be, the interest rate likely should reflect this risk) and get some return on it. Whatever the process, its great freaking news that LVPCC has not only paid off the land, the building, bought new land, will use that land for leverage in paying off part or all of the new place, and has finally asked for others to step up and do their part in the pinball community via a funraiser that isn't douche bag 'schtickfarter' or 'end-a-goo-goo'. Indie to the end, TA and posse of fart pirates (hippy, latisha, ugly mike, pirate john, sal the exterminator, patrick, and many more dismembered folks) need some help, and they asked for it. That is all that I need to hear, 500-1000 anyone. Matching donations going on?
I’m so pumped about this move. Always stop in to the PHOF when I’m in Vegas, but now it won’t be so much of a hassle. Plus, that’s a great location. Great move. Guess it’s time for some charitable giving.
That is very exciting news. I visited PHOF the last two times in Vegas and will continue on future trips. Seeing and hearing all those rows of pins when I walk through the doors always puts a smile on my face. Each time I have been able to play machines that I are not at the bars or in my friend's collections or even at Pinball Expo.
I look forward to visiting the new location and the expanded collection.
If you could have the grand opening the Friday or Saturday of super bowl weekend that would be great... so I could attend.

From talking with Tim in the past about tech help he is always looking for anyone willing to donate some time. I would PM him directly to double check but I think you can safely assume if you are in Vegas and want to help out he will welcome any help he can get.
There is always plenty of need to sweep floors, polish knobs, and clean PF glass, as well as walk around and make sure douche bag kids are not on all fours under pins or scooping quarters from the games. In other words, working on games is kinda an earned thing, must have skills, have some cred, and get to know the head goon that runs the goonie freak show in search of the pirate.
Congratulations on the move! A visit to the PHOF has been a non-negotiable item on our Vegas itinerary for every trip we've made since 2006. We always rent a car, so the trip is no big deal for us, but I'm excited to hear about the expanded capacity. And, of course, anything that's good for the PHOF is a big win! We will be signing up for a membership ASAP. We will also be anxiously awaiting the Grand Opening dates as a trip to Vegas for that weekend will also be non-negotiable!

how much is gross going to increase when he relocates to a strategically better location and triples floorspace in a modernized building? double? triple? quadruple? even if the first $300 each day [~100K/yr] goes to pay interest on $1M [secured], the PHOF should instantly be more profiable than being on trop and all the while sitting on a property with a few million in equity because he bought it right.
On behalf of the Museum of Pinball, congrats to Tim and his great staff and helpers.
Allow me to suggest that on top of monetary help or if you presently can't provide monetary assistance, the Hall of Fame is always in need for quality, loyal and responsible VOLUNTEER help. I understand you can contact Tim or Beth to find out about their volunteer programs. Specially once they move to the larger location with more machines.
We are so excited about Tim's dream coming true. Please keep us posted on your progress with contraction and the move.

Most residents don’t know the place exists. They will now.
Each person attending is likely to spend more time and money each visit.
More games on the floor means more pinball people making more trips.
This is going to be a massive win for the phof.
