    Quoted from Luckydogg420:

This statement is inaccurate because he sends the money that should be used on expenses to charity. Sure he might

, but he definitely doesn’t cover all expenses before sending money to charity, AND this is exactly the problem.
    1. Pay to fix the washrooms
    2. Pay to fix the games.
    3. Pay the employees.
    4. Pay to make the place look desirable.
    THEN
    5. Send profits to charity.
It’s not difficult to figure out what the problems are, and there’s more than enough income to see it all happen…..yet it doesn’t.

    Duly noted.

    Quoted from bob_e:

Tim owns over 1000 game, thats what he told me when he was at Clays VFW. And maybe 400 on display...so that means over 600 games are not seen.

Hopefully those will make it out onto the floor soon.

Pinsiders will loose their brain-worms when they read about it....:

Only 600 of the 1000 games were working!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My wife could not believe that our HUO reproduction AFM was in better condition than the one at the Hall Of Fame!!!!

The PHOF had more dark games than my local barcade has working ones!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I got yelled at for running, wont be back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    Quoted from poppapin:

    So does Silverball, Asbury Park.

The original Pinballz in Austin has had one for years. For a place that takes a lot of (often deserved) flak about the state of their machines, their Banzai almost always works well. I didn't have any idea it was rare to encounter one, much less one that works.

I love reading the google reviews for pinball HOF. Most are positive, but a few times each week there will be a 1-star reviews recounting some kind of run-in with Tim or his staff, and they are comedy gold. Sick burn from this guy towards the end

Very unfortunate. Didn’t sound like the daughter was creating ANY kind of issue. I would have told the attendant to go fuck himself and left.

This is your opportunity, Tim’s defenders, to hate on me. Bring it!!

Right, because if you read it on the internet it must be completely accurate. Well I read once that GPS was a troll, defend that.

Well, I didn't play it....and I guess I didn't take that good of a look at it either.

Went to the PHOF mid April. To be fair, all the games that I played, did not have any issues, but the games I was exited about were dark (Circus, Cactus Canyon, plastic mold machine and more). Tons of stupid junk (key chains and other stuff) in claw machines and boxes stacked high of inventory for those machines. Also, if there is ever a blizzard in Las Vegas, run to this place because the back is stacked to the ceiling with sweatshirts in boxes.

Saw someone ask to break $100 bill. The lady walked over to the cash register, looked up at a camera, held up the bill for the camera, put the bill in the cash register and showed her clean hands. Like a casino i guess.

On my way out, I saw a coin stamp machine that looked fun for $1. Smallest bill I had was $5. Asked the lady at the counter if I could have ones? Nope, she would only give me $5 in quarters... why??? So there I was for the rest of the day with $4 of quarters jingling in my pocket. So I got my coin punched ("Out of Order"). Did a quick 3d design and print to hold the coin. The print partially failed, but I went with it. Kinda suites the PHOF as it looks all messed up.

Well, I can confirm that I did see a lady yell at a little girl for jumping up and down because she got something out of a claw machine. I guess that is warranted since jumping is on the no no list.

He needs to get some auto flushers on those urinals or they're all gonna end up broken

Yeah, well, I personally have been on the short end of that stick with Tim's rules and his Gestapo crew. Fuck them is right. People still need to be treated with dignity and that includes children too.

Could have easily said to the young lady, "Are you having a good time?" "Well great, please make sure you follow the rules so everyone can have a great time" and moved on.

    Quoted from Haymaker:

How about this: He can install 'No Water" urinals....they work with a floatable barrier between the waste water and need to be changed once every 6 months or so. Given that the PHOS is so busy, maybe once every 3 months. I once owned an office that had these installed and they worked well. Uses NO water so 'ol Timmy boy can claim to be a greenie and can add THAT to his otherwise colorful resume'. Just a thought, but I'm sure they'll be some detractors.

He did have auto flushers and that went away with the trash look up the thread. Water less urinals I will keep my mouth quiet. Maybe with enough money i will tell what land fill they are in now next to the supposedly recyclable plastic bags.

    #2117 69 days ago

The picture that I took was of a bathroom sink wrapped in a garbage bag. I wonder if it was a small issue and Tim just had one of the volunteers wrap it in a garbage bag so it would match the urinals?

    #2118 69 days ago

waterless urinals are gonna clog up with piss crystals tho lol. Now that we're talking about it I do kinda remember going over this already. Autoflushers are the best thing to keep your urinals working, you'll pretty much never have to mess around with them again assuming nobody trys to flush a rubber chicken

Funny--urinals have been around in some shape or form since the Roman Empire days, yet PHOS is the only place on the planet Earth where they can never seem to get them functioning 100%. Just seems odd.....

The PHOF probably has the most out of service games (by the numbers, and also percentage) of all the arcades in the world! Guess that’s what makes them famous!

Name another arcade with 50 broken games out on the floor where the public can see them.

Most guys jumped into the lockers on their own when I walked by......careful with who you are trying to generalize.

    #2124 69 days ago

Way more than 50 broken games. I was there about 3 months ago and of the appox 400 pinball machines, I counted 220 on and accepting money and 178 were turned off or being stored along the wall. So about 45% of all the pinball machines (I didn't count arcades, redemptions or bowlers) we're not able to be played at all.

If you factor in the machines that played really poorly and needed service, but were turned on and accepting money - I would guess about 65% off all the pinball machines there (when I visited) either were not on at all or played poorly enough that I wouldn't play them twice.

    #2126 69 days ago

With all the urinals around i say 50% broken in some form. Of that 10% have trash bags on them. There are various auto flushes. Sadly to many pick the crappy ones for installation. Its batteries / or solar battery powered what they had at phof were the worst of them. Wired one with maintenance as needed work good. But poor maintenance be it urinals toilets and pinball, cars etc it breaks.

    #2127 64 days ago

I'm chicken and wish to stay neutral. PHOF donates a lot of money, so good on you Tim!

However the quip I heard today at Golden State was "Tim is missing out on a major source of revenue. Print shirts that say 'I went to the Pinball Hall Of Fame and got yelled at by Tim!' $50 easy. $100 if autographed."

I never been to the new place but when it was on Tropicana, the 3 times I went, the biggest and longest line was for the bathroom, not any machine.

    Quoted from Squeakman:

Vid then how do you explain the Banzai Run that has sat out of order for the last 8 years straight? It has NEVER worked in every single location Tim has had. Maybe the Power Rangers repair force has fixed it by now?

Hey, I was out with the Banning crew at the PHoF at the end of April. Here's me working on the Banzai Run. It was working when I left, I replaced the 23-800 coil in the upper playfield that kicks the ball to the top flipper.

Don't get me wrong, it's still a bit temperamental, but I think most BZs are. But, the most I can tell you, is that I did work on it, and fixed it, and hope that it stays up for a good while.

Other games I was able to fix: Who-Dunit, Star Trek: TNG, Bugs Bunny's Birthday Ball, Fish Tales, and Transformer. I would have liked to fix Bad Cats (I originally sold it to Tim), but the MPU board was out of the game, being repaired.

I don't remember seeing the problem slip for TAF, but I remember it being off. I agree games like that should be given higher priority.

Smallest denomination I had was a $5 bill. The guy flat out refused to give me change. And that concluded our visit to the pinball hall of shame. Before we left I snapped a few pics of row after row of broken machines. The place was a filthy, disorganized mess.

Lol so what is the minimum amount that they will cash into quarters? $20? Is there a sign for that? Seems like theres a sign for all the other rules.

They have change machines that will handle any bill up to a $20 (if I recall correctly). Sounds like he wanted less than $5 of quarters and the attendant wouldn't break his five into singles.

When a cheapskate and bad service collide.

Stopped by last weekend while in town for some Sphere shows. Was playing Pinball Pool and spaced out and set my can of soda on the machine next to it that was turned off. Employ came by and said " Don't set you drink on any machine you could get electrocuted". Huge eye roll . I said but it's turned off. He replied that didn't matter.

    #2139 48 days ago

"Electrocuted!" No need for them to make up fake reasons, the actual reason is good enough. They don't want spills on the glass running through 50-year-old beer seal, down into the game.

I'm just relieved you were warned instead of ejected.

The hot wire goes to the very bottom of the cabinet, so even if it's turned off, you can get zapped if there is a fault.

(think how even if one game is turned off, and the other game is reversed wired; you get your dick zapped squeezing between two machines)

Or if it was an EM, many of them have 110v in the door.

Never put a drink on a game, especially an old one before '72....it's disrespectful anyways, lol

Didn't he or she point you to the bill breaker machine? Insert a $5, you get five singles. Insert a ten spot, I think you get a five and five singles....

However, it won't give you two fives for a ten spot. For an automated version of that, you'd have to walk over to Mandalay Bay. They have eighteen of those machines on the casino floor.

    Remarkably similar.

Rules are often standard throughout many industries. The issue is then style of enforcement. Some are authoritarian; others are courteous and seek compliance through cooperation. No place has staffing enough to achieve 100% compliance, so which style is best for achieving voluntary compliance when others aren't looking?
