Quoted from timtim:Really tried hard coming up with that name.
I imagine they thought that would be a sufficiently “professional” sounding name that they could be confused with legitimate places like pinballs.com (Automated) or thepinballcompany.com.
It’s real simple. If you see someone like this on social media or auction sites selling games, but they have no website at all, you should simply steer clear. While it’s true that some of the best pinball vendors are “old school” and don’t bother with elaborate web sites, all of them at least maintain a basic web presence with physical locations and direct contact information available.
This is doubly true if their advertised prices are significantly less than MSRP. In this climate, NO ONE is getting a “deal” except sellers, so you should be very guarded and heavily vet anyone who seems to be offering one.
Absent all of that, just do what the OP did and ask here. If it is a legitimate business/person, it’s almost certain that someone here will have dealt with them; if none of us have heard of the business in question, that itself should be a red flag. (I don’t mean that to sound pompous or to suggest that Pinside is the final authority on all things pinball, but there’s enough active experienced membership here by sheer numbers alone to cover the bases.)
