Quoted from ViperJelly:Any food trucks this year?
None so far. But the deeproot booth hasn't been set up yet.
Quoted from pinpin8990:In all my years of going to Expo seminars never once has anyone checked for a ticket or wristband.
You just walk in and get a seat.
Quoted from schudel5:This year its different. They have people at every door checking wristbands and lanyards.
Quoted from pinpin8990:Bummer. Keep the pictures coming for the people who can't make it this year.
So you found out they're checking for tickets and now you won't come?

I wish I could be there! I was just letting people know how things worked in the past. I had a vitrectomy (retina reattachment surgery, second one this year) last Thursday, so I have to be face down for a while. My son and I were very excited to attend, but life had other plans.

Quoted from LTG:Don't forget what all went down.
Name of game was rumored for some time. 7 games set up and turned on and covered. When the cover was pulled off half the audience got up and left. A few minutes later it was on Pinside the game sucked.
And now the rest of the story :
No one reported that those that left were running across the parking lot to Twin Peaks to see scantly clad waitresses, get free beer, and see the new Alien pin.

I waited for Pat to conclude his presentation. Then I strolled across the lot for the show as well as Andrew telling all of those lies....
Quoted from dudah:They really flexed their advertising dollars this year. My MIL, an aunt, and my 96 year old grandmother all made sure to call me and tell me about the Pinball Expo this year!
WGN AM-720 I presume?
And in the end Dialed In turned out to be an Amazing game..
Loved it from the very first flip, at Free Gold Watch.
despite all the notices and signage saying they are enforcing this, there is zero physical distancing whatsoever and half the attendees aren't wearing face coverings at all. No one is even pretending the care.
meanwhile the sessions have been back to back coughing, sneezing, and people blowing noses nonstop.

This is simply not true. I’ve been playing in the tournament area all afternoon and 98% are masked.

Its 88°here in SoCal.
It’s raining 22 Godzilla games. How many you have in Downey?

Why not just leave then?
Quoted from kermit24:What are the odds that JJP reveals Toy Story here?
Two seminars scheduled. 8pm tonight and 8:45 tomorrow night.
Would be a real bummer if we don't at least get a tease...
Wondering how loud this place is gonna be with concrete floor, vaulted ceilings, and lots of people…..

I am hoping we see stuff actually get streamed.
Quoted from pinpin8990:Why not just leave then?
pretty shitty to buy a three day ticket, fly from LA, get the hotel room for the weekend and then have to leave because of the inconsideration of others and lack of enforcement of Expo's own rules. I will go back downstairs and see if the vendor hall is any better later tonight. If not, I'll leave tomorrow.
Great pictures sir!
Was really hoping they would stream the seminars.
They only have test footage on twitch, what's the point of that!?
Quoted from beelzeboob:...and then walks out when they see it's Dialed In.
I'll never forget that.

I'm wondering if you even read my follow-up post before you downvoted the initial post: I was defending Dialed In as being a great game that wasn't given a chance by the people at Expo. (I think sometimes you just assume what I think and jump to disagree before getting all the facts.) Yes...the art wasn't the best, but the game was pretty incredible.
Quoted from LTG:Don't forget what all went down.

In fairness, I was watching the stream and was appalled at everyone getting up and leaving immediately instead of watching the rest of the presentation. I hear people were throwing out the JJP handouts about Dialed In, and it was a sad day for JJP. And again...it's a great game that wasn't given a fair shake in its reveal.
Quoted from kermit24:It’s raining 22 Godzilla games. How many you have in Downey?
Sunny, 81° with clear blue skies in Las Vegas. One Godzilla is nearby at Tim Arnold's PHoF.

It wasn't cool for people to just get up and leave. However, JJP also needed to dramatically improve their new release presentation style. The original Expo release presentations for Hobbit and Dialed lacked excitement. JJP needed some showmanship and there really wasn't any at the DI presentation. Starting with Pirates JJP finally started presenting a new release with a lot more pizazz.
DI was Pat's first game in years, they should of dimmed the lights, had a fog machine going and announced with enthusiasm over loud speakers that Pat Lawlor had returned. Someone could have directed a brief presentation followed by a live stream of the game being played by potential customers. Stuff like that is what JJP needed that night.
Quoted from beelzeboob:Anybody know of any links to streams of seminars?

The homebrew contest announcement during the AP seminar has possibilities.
- A one year open contest to bring your homebrew to Expo next year for the AP team to judge and possibly put into production. -

I didn't see a sign that masks were mandatory? Did I miss something?
