This was my 6th time going and once again had a great time. My general thoughts for whatever it's worth on the Expo:

    1. Great turnout by people. Was there from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. and had a blast. Almost everyone is extremely nice and polite. Easier to drive to than Wheeling, in my honest opinion.
    2. New games are outstanding. No disappointment in anything except LZ pro model. Seemed to be very empty. When I played the LZ premium the pop-up spinner makes a ton of difference.
    3. With regard to specific games -- Legends of Valhalla was a blast -- props to both Riot Pinball and American for putting out a great and enjoyable game. Thought Godzilla was a blast as well.
    4. Wished American had brought an Oktoberfest -- I have always enjoyed that game. Also wished Spooky had a presence, but not anything new since they focus on MGC.
    5. My friend had never been to Pinball Expo and really enjoyed it and is looking forward to going next year, which is a testament to how well it was run and how nice the people.

All in all a great time -- While I understand why some people preferred the Wheeling location, I think it was an upgrade, particularly in the space. I'm hoping that next year I'll be able to take some more time off of work and finally spend more than one day at this. Someday I'll also try to come to the Pinside gathering because I really would like to meet some of you in person!

P.S. The only downside is now I want to get some more pinball machines but lack the space. If anyone wants to trade out a recent Stern Premium for a Medieval Madness Remake Standard (in pretty good shape) let me know.

This is not a complaint, but it's an eye opener. When you go to the Free play area, count how many games are Rob Berk's and you begin to realize how little amount of games were brought by everyone else. As usual, many of Rob's games work for a few hours and then are half assed or shut off completely. So may of those weird imports were shut off or completely unplayable.
I have to believe that the small amount of games brought by others was directly covid related.

I brought a game and set it up Wednesday. Instructions were sketchy-bring it in, set it up and check it in versus the registration sent in weeks earlier.

When I went in Thursday my game and all the others had Rob Berk stickers on them. There’s no telling which ones are actually Rob’s. Also, I did check on my game regularly to make sure it was working properly. It did develop a fault Friday night which I fixed Saturday morning.

This is my first Expo so I can’t compare with previous shows but I was surprised that around half the games were EMs. There were less than a dozen modern games and not a lot of post 1985 SS games.

Nice little haul at the end of the night playing Dwight Sullivan's Feud without the family. Great time come next year everyone!

    Quoted from CashMoney:

Yeah I was shocked how few machines there were in the free play area…

So, not all the games were on free play? Seriously? Wow.

I’ve never been to a pinball expo where all the machines weren’t on free play.. hopefully this doesn’t become a new trend.

They were all on free play, the free player area is half the venue, games peoe brought , the other half the venue was vendor games,. Stern, JJP, American, and some distributors, Stern brought probably 40+ games, JJ maybe 15, American 10-15 and several distributors had new games in their spaces also. Again, all on free play. The vendor area has less available hours then regular free play area

Quoted from fooflighter:Things I've learned at expo so far:
    1. Godzilla is the best game I've ever played...

    Quoted from lancestorm:

Revisit this assessment after the last day at Expo and again 3 months later when Stern has their latest new one available

    Yep, Still the best ever
