1 1/16" for the fraction crowd.
Quoted from docquest:Does anyone know if you can buy Stern accessories at the Stern factory after the tour?
Yes. In past tours the parts department had a (cash only) customer sales window open. Primarily selling swag, but "Stern Store" toppers and stuff were also available for sale.
Quoted from Spyderturbo007:I've never been to Expo, but as chance would have it, I'm going to be about an hour away for work that week.
Am I correct to understand that I can purchase a one-day pass for $30 and be allowed into the free play area? It looks like it's open from 6pm to 6am, so once I got done with my meetings, I could swing in for a few hours.
Yes.
Quoted from Pinballomatic:Gonna missing hanging in your room with Lloyd this year Rob!
cfh is awesome to hang with too.
Bring White Castle sliders, coney dogs or Chicago dogs (with onions) and Little Caesars five buck pepperoni pizzas.
Quoted from APB_Enterprises:Chicago dogs always have onions.
Agreed. Very familiar with the various Chicago dogs including the Vienna beef version you pictured. Will make a Gene & Jude's run (or two) during Expo. Just mentioned it since CFH loves to bitch at me when I bring coney dogs to the VFW as he hates the stench from onions.
Quoted from Borygard:Me too! It evolved into a great place to hang and BS with folks for a bit.
Definitely sad that it's gone this year.

Are you sure it's gone? I read it's there on the internet just now so it must be true....
All of the rental cars I've had in Chicago offer an IPass transponder for a set fee/day, IIRC, about $10.00/day.
Most Toll Plazas accept cash (IPass holders pay half the cash toll. Some plazas/interchanges are IPass only. The Pinball Life/Huntley interchange is IPass only. If you go through without a transponder or registered plate, you'll pay double the toll plus a Ticketmaster-esque "processing fee".
Get the transponder in the rental car. It's only money and electronic toll collection is fast and CONvenient....
I never look closely with rental cars as its not my money. For my personal vehicles, I have a Transponder.
Quoted from epthegeek:NOTE: The exit by pinball life DOES NOT - it's ipass only.
Yes, I mentioned that the Pinball Life / Huntley interchange is IPass only in the next sentence.
Quoted from GravitaR:Clays repair room even has a game in it. Try to guess what it is.
Is it too soon to say the "P-word"?
Quoted from GravitaR:All crowded together like a herd of cows I bet.
Not nearly as bad as last year.
At 11:30 Central Time on Friday evening 10/13/2017, there were 118 pins in the free play room. 17 were off/out of order/marked Sold. There were an additional 5 not set up.
Don't forget there are the two machines (Flintstones by ICE) and Hercules in the hallway.
Quoted from tdiddy:Best photo of the night....whats the caption
Chas, get over here. Why do these lights look so weird?
Quoted from orangestorm87:Think they are there every year
Comic Book Guy with the bootleg movie & entertainer stuff was different.
Quoted from Pugsley:Well its 8:00 and some of the vendors are already packing up. Attendance seems way low. In the freeplay hall its probably 2 ratio of pins to players. Just seems rather lackluster this year.
Keep in mind there are hundreds of attendees and some vendor staff attending the banquet during this time. Only a few years ago, the free play room and vendor hall was closed from 5 pm to 11pm on Saturday for the banquet.
Mike heard the cries from attendees and now keeps everything open. Some vendors will close their booths as they want to attend the banquet.
The less crowded free play room is a win for those that would rather play pinball than eat.
Quoted from Pinballlew:Simple reach under the game and turn it off.
Or trace line cord and briefly unplug. I do it at shows as required.
