There is so much wrong with what I am reading here, it's amazing. Also for the record, I have personally dealt with the fire marshal at MGC every year for the past several years. Every year, we get a punch list from him at around the 11th hour, and we make it all happen - apparently without anyone else noticing. 
Rest assured, the fire department, the police department, and the city / county are ever-present at MGC - and it's not always fun. I have little doubt that other shows have their own challenges and stress. It's all about how you deal with that stress.
