    Quoted from robin:

But on that subject, where can I find good pins to play in Chicago?

I live only 10 minutes from the Westin hotel where expo is held. I'd love to have you and your brother come by and hang out while you're in town. In fact, I may organize some kind of official Pinside thing at my house. It's just a matter of figuring out when to do it so it doesn't conflict with other pinball stuff going on that weekend.

There's a new restaurant that recently opened up in the parking lot of the Westin called Spears. They specialize in bourbon and craft beers, and they also have some damn good food. I've eaten there a few times, and I like it way more than any of the other restaurants close to the hotel such as Ram, Twin Peaks, Cooper's Hawk, etc ...

Steak: Morton's. Ruth Kris, Houston's and Lawry's all get a nod too.

I like Houston's a lot, but I'm pretty sure the one in Chicago closed years ago. J. Alexander's, which is not far from the Westin at all, is very similar to Houston's. They have one of the best french dip sandwiches I've ever had.

Also when in Chicago, you have to try Taco Bell, it's awesome!

    And Hardees ..... YUM!!!

Isn't Taco Bell everywhere the same?

    Yes. He was joking.

So What Night Works For Everyone? And Does Spear's Work? I'm ok trying some where new.. Though Twin Peaks is good too

Let Me know an I will Try and call and get a res.. looking like a massive group this year.

Spears is awesome, but I don't think they can accommodate 100+ people. Twin Peaks is probably the best option.

I know someone here had worked on these in the past. We would like to use them if possible.

I always thought this one was perfect ...

    Quoted from Pinballer22:

So what is the best hotel close to the Westin for those that missed out on getting a reservation at the Westin?

The closest nice hotel I can think of would be the Holiday Inn Express:

There is also an Embassy Suites a little further down Lake Cook Road:

Both hotels are just minutes from the Westin. There are a bunch of really crappy motels on Milwaukee in Wheeling that you definitely DO NOT want to stay at.

    Quoted from catboxer:

But no one really eats Deep Dish in Chicago unless you've got friends visiting from out of town.

We order deep dish from Lou's at least once a month.

Lou's is awesome, but if you're trying to feed a lot of people, it's not very cost effective. Their deep dish is damn expensive. You're probably better off going with thin crust for a group that size. Plus, thin crust is just easier to eat in a casual setting. D'Agostino's has great thin crust pizza, and they are right down the street from the Westin.

Hot Doug's has very limited hours compared to Gene & Jude's.

Its hours are about to become even more limited ...

Shoot. Won't be getting to Expo until Friday afternoon. Was looking forward to meeting many Pinsiders. At least I'll make it in time for the seminar!

I'm sure there will be a lot of Pinisders at the Pinside.com seminar as well.
