Yeah, and I'm guessing there may be some issue with the new site for the delay ...I see in my contribution list that I have now "contributed" to both the December drawing and a new February drawing (currently only one cc charge) which is up to $530 despite not really being a link active from the website. I mean, having contributions listed as 9941 and 530 for raffles at $40 a ticket is some funky rallyup math I didn't learn in school...Joe may be becoming an expert in this new math!

Hopefully just site problems and not personal issues.

Well, my feed didn't cut out and my wife and I both could swear it said I won with ticket 219 (Stephen Etzkorn), but I'll need 3rd party verification before I really believe it! After that, I didn't pay much attention to the other winners.

Sweet! I wasn't seeing things. Must have been my reward for leaving work early after a crappy day to watch the auction.

Just want to thank Joe for his hard work setting all this up, and wish him luck in this endeavor. It sounded like he had lease papers for the center approved on the 'cast. It's a great cause. Now, off to buy a (losing) ticket for the March auction!

As I understand it, you can deduct the ticket price as gambling losses assuming you have gambling winnings to claim as well, but you cannot (or should not, I won't tell) deduct the value of the tickets directly. There is normally some gray area around deducting some amount above the "benefit" that might allow some contribution to count, but this is explicitly prohibited for raffles per link below. For me I don't want to play around with the IRS, so I will claim a 5k "win" and deduct a few hundred as losses...I'll gladly pay Uncle Sam a few hundred to keep playing TWD.
