    Happening in Milwaukee this weekend?

    #2 6 months ago

Yes, here's the e-mail that I got about it

    Guinness World Record Attempt
    Hi Everyone,
I'm all about promoting competitive pinball and when I heard about this I had to share it with all of you!
Ryan Clancy, who is one of our fellow pinball players, is going to be attempting to break the Guinness World Record for the Longest Marathon Pinball Play currently set at 30 hours and 10 minutes. He is doing this to raise money for the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin. He will be attempting this at Bounce Milwaukee this Friday/Saturday Nov 1st & Nov 2nd. He really needs volunteers to witness the attempt to make it official. Bounce will give you a free wristband for game play, food, drinks, etc for volunteering for a 4 hour shift. Lets help him out! Follow this link to sign up for a slot.

If you can't make it to volunteer you could also help out by donating to Children's Hospital by using this link.

Good Luck to Ryan on his World Record Attempt!

Nice. Who is the current record holder and when was that done?

    #4 6 months ago

interesting. when will he be starting? I am working in Milwaukee Friday and Saturday night. I could stop by.

    #5 6 months ago

Interesting! I'm doing a 37 hour Extra-Life stream this weekend, some of which will be pinball, but wow I don't think I could do 30 hours on a single game!

Wait is this attempting to play ONE LONG GAME???? Or just play it over and over nonstop until you give up, kinda like a game of attrition?
I can’t imagine being able to keep one game going for 30+ hours so I’m assuming he’s just playing pinball till he can no longer manage. I’ve followed some of those marathon plays of video games on Extra Life.
    Very cool!! Good luck!

What about bathroom breaks???? I know some players when they play old school arcade games for marathon, they have to build up their extra lives really high and then they go for a quick break.

    #8 6 months ago

Hell I played longer than that when I first got my afm

Hahahaha. No. Just play pinball for 30 hours with a 5 min break every hour.

I see the current record for 30hrs is on a World Poker Tour... poor guy, why not pick a better game?

That’s taking the term poker grinder to another level

    #13 6 months ago

Not sure what game I’d pick for the marathon. Would have to be something that I could play a bunch of different ways. Hobbit maybe.

It'd would definitely be JJP POTC for me. You can play it a bunch of different ways with all the different characters which would keep it interesting for a long time. 30+ hours interesting...probably not as I can't imagine any game being interesting for anywhere close to that amount of time straight, but it would still be fun for a good chunk of it.

    #15 6 months ago

I need more time on POTC. I suck at it and have no fun shooting it. But a 30 hour straight sesh might do the trick. Haha

Ha! I was thinking crystal meth, but that'll do

    #17 6 months ago

You would have to pick a game that you would be ok with hating after it is done.

    #18 6 months ago

I feel like you’d need a backup game next to it, should the inevitable happen

    #19 6 months ago

I thought Eden Stamm has the current record?

I seem to remember he played Twilight Zone for like 50 hours?

I’ll have to check on that ...

Edit: 36 hours evidently ... referenced in a few places.

However, Guinness has a different entry ... must have been some issue?

Has there been any word on what pinball machine will be used?

One 30 hour game is possible then. Haha

I specifically picked WPT because of the stop and go nature of it, I was confident that it would last for the anticipated 30hrs, I owned one, plus I had a friend who had the same machine I had set up next to me I could use as a backup if required (I didn't).

Plus I wanted to get to Keefer Invitational - obviously I didn't.

Hey, you also made the late show with Seth Meyers. Congratulations on beating the previous high score held by AAA.
