Watching BEEP right now (for the second time). It's about arcade and console games mostly, but lots of pinball in there too - great documentary that is right up my alley as I'm also a musician and programmer. Super interesting details IMO

Quoted from djreddog:New documentary I just stumbled up:
Beep - A Documentary History Of Game Sound
https://vimeo.com/ondemand/beep

I was bored and looking for something to watch tonight, came across this on Kodi. Figured I'd post it up here and you got me beat.
Hope I didn't rain on your parade! Haha. It's a good documentary. I have about 10-12 pinball/video game documentaries in my collection. Enjoy watching them.
Yeah, I do too. I remember the history well enough I could probably narrate half of them but it still makes me smile. I had to laugh when they were talking about Monkey Island in Beep and discussing how they weighted the scenes to change the flow of the music. Just about the time I thought to myself, "Damn, all these years I never noticed..." he commented how they were so proud of their accomplishment and only like one out of ten players even picked up on it. Yup, 'fraid so.
edit: Oh yeah, it was particularly cool to see Chris Huelsbeck in it. No history of game music is complete without that guy.
Days worth of pinball documentaries and vintage footage all conveniently in one place! Please join my facebook group and grab some refreshments!
Quoted from NeilMcRae:would love to see that Rick Stetta film mentioned in the first post - assuming its dead?
He is in Special When Lit. Is there another one?
Yea if there's ever a god of pinball it's Stetta, as far as I know "Bang Back" is not in production, I wish someone would release the raw footage at least Stetta seems to be a recluse which only adds to his mystery!!! You can watch him play some on youtube.
Quoted from Extraballz:Bump this back up with.
The History of Pinball: Special Edition
This is now down, did anyone back it up?
'Road to Pinball' is free to watch on Amazon Prime right now:
https://www.amazon.com/Road-Pinball-Ralf-Richter/dp/B07MWJBX5R/
You could by a DVD of it directly from the producer/director and show support for his efforts to make a new edition! Mark Helms is the guy and he's reachable at SAVmedia dot com. The "Special Edition" is shortened a little to allow time for commercials. The one you get on the DVD is full length and has bonus features.

I never heard of this. Googled it and this is the description:

Sounds interesting. I'll definitely check it out.
