So I drop buy the local hot dog joint by work for the Tuesday special, and as I pull in, so does a blue SUV. I notice the plates reference pinball and there's an I'd rather be playing pinball plate ring. I'm a few steps ahead of the gentleman who got out, he was a bit older than me so I held the door and let him go in.
He tells me to go ahead an order, but I say anyone with a cool license plate like yours should order first. He asked if I like pinball, I like it a lot I say. He tells me he is a pinball designer and designed pinball machines for Williams for around 20 years, and now he is designing pinball machines for a company in Europe called Heighway pinball, and introduces himself as Barry Oursler. WHAT LUCK.
We shook hands, he gave me his signed pinball hall of fame card, and we both proceeded to enjoy lunch. I could have asked him a million questions, but he seemed like a nice quiet gentleman, so I let him eat in peace, thanked him for the card, and headed back to work.
One COOL day today.
