We now have Pinball Circus(tm) side artwork available and wanted to check with the community on some ideas for making it available. We would like to donate a portion of the proceeds in Python's name to a charity (we will check with his family on which one), but we are able under our WEG (WMS) parts license to make full sized cabinet decals, but are also able to make various sized prints, posters, and other items using our WEG merchandising license. We are exploring some nice items (keeping up good taste) like blankets or other large items that would show off the artwork well.

This is some of the best and most complicated and beautiful artwork that we've had the pleasure of working with! This was done using original WEG artwork.

Let us know what you think and any ideas for us in terms of pinball related merchandise to highlight Python's creative genius!

(NOTE: if artwork sample does not show up ... it will ... just uploading ... check back!)

A poster for the wall would be nice.

I've seen the full size fine art print version of this in person, and it's very nice. A poster would be great.

I didn't know Python, so I don't want to overstep my boundaries here. Someone who knows better please put me in check if I mis-speak. My understanding was that Python was not close to his family, that they didn't want to help him at the end, and it was the pinball community that stepped up in his final days.

I'm just saying, maybe his family isn't the best place to go to as a source of a charity suggestion. If there isn't already something good in place, maybe there's something pinball related that people could suggest as a good idea, something that has the right spirit.

Poster please. American Cancer Society would be a good recipient for funds.

This deserves to be a silkscreen poster IMHO. The only way to truly honor the art.

Point taken ... we will insure that we put some thought into a suitable charity that will be appropriate.

Python made reference to some of his family in that final video, who did stick with him and were good to him. There are people here that knew him personally, and I am sure they will reach out in private to let you know.

I also agree that a screened print seems fitting for this awesome art.

Just a crazy idea, but why not put the money towards some kind of research and development fund to reproduce the game? It seems like Python was pretty keen to have that happen.

Then, if the dream is ever realised, a portion of the profits from the reproduction could go towards charity.

Pinball Circus is up there with Wizard Blocks as one of the legendary games that really should have been produced.

Who knows what will happen on this game someday ... we just found some additional pieces parts and art and prints for the game ...

I would be in...

It would be nice to see it done in a screen print, using archive paper and inks.

No idea who did it or what stocks remain etc, but FYI that's been done already, that's how I saw it.

I'd buy a poster.

FYI Rick is aware that Python Anghelo himself did these just before he passed away, He signed each one of them. We sold them as part of the fund raiser for Python. I personally purchased everyone of them and have some remaining. Since Python has passed away I am now simply trying to sell them at the same price which I gave to Python. The ones I purchased and sold during his last days I still gave him all the proceeds from the second sale so he ended up with 2x the funds. There were only 50 total. I think I have around 25 remaining.

The interesting thing is that I have documents that Python's contract with WMS had expired when he designed PC and WMS failed to pay Python for all his work on the game so it will be interesting to see who ultimately ends up with the rights.

Cheers,
James

Didn't really follow what was being done with Python's art, so that's great that you have what you have and did what you did ... the stuff PPS would do is just to produce wms artwork and mdse, and be respectful and certainly recognize Python for being a great artist/designer. No intention to drag this into something it's not ... so we won't.

A bit of trivia about Python's artwork which Rick is displaying of the Pinball Circus. The Flippy the Clown is Python and the acrobatic lady was Python's wife. Python was extremely fond of elephants so he wanted the strong elephant to ride on in the artwork, of course it was easy as it also fit the circus theme. I don't recall him saying what the tiger represented, if anything, so most likely it was just an extension of the circus theme.
