So i just bought a camper, and plan on doing quite a bit of camping this year if anything opens up. I am looking for awning lights shaped like pinball machines or arcade games. Does anyone know if anyone makes these? Anyone with a 3d printer able to make some? I told the wife that is the only awning lights i will use!

you bought a camper? what's wrong with bud light awning lights?

    #4 3 years ago

    Because it isnt pinball!

    #5 3 years ago

I’ve never heard of these before, and would also love a set.

My thought was someone with a 3d printer and transluscent plastic. If someone made them, they would sell a ton here!

Its just a small pop up, something i can store in my garage and tow with my crappy traverse

nice!! well I have been told some of the camp grounds up north are open. I know a few people that went last weekend.

You’d have to start with a generic cheap outdoor light string like these, probably smaller bulbs would be better.

And somehow make clip on housing that looks like tiny machines like these.

Even if you could cut frosted lexan into cabinet panels, then print the decals and apply them. Glue the lexan into shape and it should work.

Im not even sure 3d printing would work. Even with transluscent plastic

    #12 3 years ago

Not bad, if its on a thicker cardstock. Im not sire how well they would hold up though outside. Cool none the less

That’s great. I’d probably print them off at 200% size onto plastic. I think I have some transparent overhead projector sheets, they’re probably durable enough. It also might work better to print in reverse and fold the model inside out. So that the ink is on the inside.

I’m going to print off a couple and give it a try.

The thought never crossed my mind to print on plastic. Projector sheets, or even something a little thicker

Just be careful they don’t melt or catch on fire!

    Oh....wow....

I know what I’m doing this weekend.

    #21 3 years ago

That looks great! Perfect size too!

I’ve never tried this before and failed. The transparent sheets I have (are not overhead projector sheets) do not like being printed onto and look like trash. There’s got to be a better solution.

ya, you’ll need low powered leds so that it doesn’t get to hot, and make sure whatever material you use it won’t light on fire.

Remember the old score sheets from bowling allys? I wonder if those would take ink
