    Quoted from Sandman33:

LOL. I can't believe a couple people actually downvoted my original post. Just saying that when Bill Gates is the largest owner of US farmland....but is NOT farming it....and the US govt continues to pay farmers NOT to farm....meanwhile the next bullshit war rages on overseas that is stopping food production globally...we all may have issues soon.
Not trying to be a downer, just stating some facts that people might not be aware of.

Just to be clear, there is a rumor / conspiracy theory that Bill Gates owns "most" or the "majority" of farmland (for nefarious purposes). He actually owns about 1% of US farmland (a lot to be sure, but a long way from "most").

If you combined all the farmland he owns into a single "plot" it would be the size of about 1/4th of Rhode Island.

Nobody I'm aware of thinks he owns the majority, he is the largest *single holder* of farmland however.

Considering his wheelhouse is software & computer hardware now and he has a population control agenda this should be of some concern to the average American. His foundation was literally called "The Bill and Linda Gates foundation for Population Control" before they changed it to something more innocuous.

As much as I like talking conspiracies I would encourage those of you interested in it to move over to r/conspiracy on reddit before we inevitably move into politics, offend 1/2 of pinside, and get the thread shut down. https://www.reddit.com/r/conspiracy/

Depends. I had some fellow ranting at me via PM a few weeks ago.

10 year member, 500-600 posts, 90% of which were "for sale/not sold"

Clearly not here for the conversation.

At this point if you still think everything that has been going on all over the world since 2020 is just a “conspiracy” you need to pull your head out your ass and set your ego aside and educate yourself. As Plato said “The price of apathy is to be ruled by evil men.”

The price for AC/DC premium not being snapped up really does tell the tale that prices are lower right now.

Dude... I'm 100% with you on all of this. However, I would like to keep this forum about pinball so that we don't alienate 1/2 of pinside and get this thread shut down.

Sorry for coming at you like that!
I’m just sick of people mocking conspiracy theorist when they are usually vastly more educated about the subjects they talk about then just about anyone else.

You are part of a community where grown ass men pay $1000 for a piece of plastic that is mostly a static display, showcasing zero interaction to the main game, with blinking lights on top of their overpriced pinball machine.

Some people don't take too kindly to logic round these parts.

I guess I understand. This forum kind of serves as a distraction from the harsh realities of the outside world.

    Quoted from ThePinballCo-op:

    Has the bubble ever burst?
I honestly don't know. If it has, can someone point it out? Because if it never has in pinball history, then it probably won't burst now.

I've been collecting since the mid-90s. No, the bubble has NEVER burst. Because there is no bubble. The transition from operators to home collectors, coupled with a limited supply that goes down over the years (pins that get parted out, destroyed, never traded once acquired...) means it never will. Now, this is talking about the majority of pins - not the latest new pin flavor of the month. Any discussion of new pin prices is useless, they haven't been around long enough to establish a benchmark. I'd just rule out any pin that's not at least 10 years old. But that's me.

That state is bleeding off all funds to long care facilities, they think the best place for people with dementia is home.

Once they are gone, they are not coming back.

I am very sorry to hear it. I guess I'm confused since there's this. And having to deal with dementia on the other side of the family, I understand your concern, and fully support it.

"Notice to Nursing Homes February 2022 - 10% Rate Increase Extended
The Department understands the challenges many nursing homes continue to face with staffing costs. Public Act 21-2 established a temporary 10% rate increase for a 9-month period effective July 1, 2021 to March 31,2022. In support of nursing homes, the Department will extend the 10% rate increase to June 30, 2022 by utilizing the $10 million in ARPA funding for Nursing Home Facility Support under section 306 and 321 of PA 21-2, June special session, and covering the balance under Medicaid. Specifically, the rate increase for April and May 2022 will be covered under Medicaid while the increase for June 2022 will be funded through the utilization of the $10 million in ARPA funding that was allocated for Nursing Home Facility Support. Extending this support through the end of the state fiscal year will provide nursing homes over $29 million to support staffing costs and other expenses related to the public health emergency."

They are already underfunding us and crushing us under useless regulations for good measure.

We recently had to install $30,000 of outside sprinkler heads. The kicker.

    1) The building has 22" granite walls.
    2) The antifreeze in the outside loop is flammable.
    3) NFPA is talking about changing the code due to point #2 above.

The owner has been in the facility since 1977, it's not being sold off lightly. The state is going to drive them out of business. I work in a 5 star facility and the state does not care.

Believe what you want, I have been in this business for 16 years and never seen it so bad. Every single person we have here on state aid we lose hundreds per day and we have no choice but to take them.

This is every bubble burst thread from now on.

Arguing about inflation, politics, and the media until the thread gets locked.

Look at me, getting nostalgic for the old days when it was just noobs insisting they’d be able to buy an Addams family for $3k in a year.

Listen I think you might be a little slow but everything that’s been happening around the world has been by design. We are at the end of our current financial system and are headed into a new digital cashless system where everything will be tracked and accounted for down to a thousandth of a cent. You probably bought the whole Will Smith slapping Chris Rock stunt. It was a staged distraction like many others going on now. There is nothing new under the sun.

It seems like the mind-control chip in your vaccine is mal-functioning. You aren't supposed to be noticing these things.

Please report to the nearest vaccine provider for "a booster" immediately...

Ok, so I’m watching my neighbors fuck in the backyard while standing on a ladder in my mom’s basement looking out the ceiling windows, while my mom does my laundry and my dishes.

Oops, here's my bus stop. I don't watch regular television, and certainly not the mindless fluff like an awards ceremony. But if you think that stuff, I can see many years where you could make a better argument where it started. 2020? That's just trying to say something highly political without getting flagged.
