I am interested in making a face hugger wireform mod for Alien. Possibly other mods concerning ramp or wireforms. Is there any difference with ramp or returns betwen the sv and lv? Thanks for any input.

In the club! I will start its own topic soon, but a sneak peak of next wireform mod. I need to plate the tail nex. And I am working on it being animated swinging over playfield. Awesome game! And it needs to look more menacing. The tail will extend over the pops to the head. I want it to look like its attacking you with the tail.

Its easier to cut down spines then to add. Not finished with the tail. The spines are too big. But, I layed it in the game to see the scale. Same with length of tail, easier to cut it to size then to add. . The only way to figure it out is in the machine.
Not sure if anyone else has ball jumping over the right wireform 180 ramp. A hard shot on my machine sends the ball over the rail onto playfield.
Making this wireform just for my tail whip mechanism, but if there was interest in this wireform by itself I would do them. The ball can’t go anywhere but down the wireform. Its 3 hours labor and with materials would be under $200 shipped. I will post a play video when I can.
Quoted from KING-HENRY:now THAT is NICE! ...btw, where did you get that plastic ball diverter (or decal?) that extends over that scoop? looks slick
Came with the machine so not sure?
Last mod post here, but I have the proto type tail whip mod figured out. Maybe you can see the potential in it now. This is friction plates on a swivel, it is loose and sloppy as a result. I wont have the bearings until Monday. The tail will be supported and installed through a ball bearing housing just behind the scoop. Damn it it is alive! And there is my blodd on it already….
Redesigning tail to be lighter going to use black wireform loom and weld spikes only on spine. The loom should look good, we will see. Heres the topic I am going to use that over owners thread.

Its a work in progress and has moved over to this scaled down version with mesh sheeting. Still improving tail whip mech and I started on the grabbing hand behind monitor. Will try to animate the fingers as well. But yes it was too big. But the only way to figure it out is to build something.

It is all stainless steel including the tail to behind head. I have to redo rear tail, but I worked out a improved mechanism. There are 2 bearings pressed into it. One at tip of the tail and one at tail pivot. It passes the low ball speed test! And I added acid burns on support plating.

Last post here. If your interested in following it further please jump over to the topic. Thanks for letting me plug it in owners topic, I dont want to abuse it.
Extremely quick play video as I suck at hitting the ramp.
Ps. This is a amazing machine! Well done Pinball Brothers. Solve the hardware and freeze ups and its hard to deny how awesome this game is. If your on the fence, jump in! I only have to reset it when theres no video on boot up. Happens sporatically!

Working out a animated hand mod. It is in the whipping tail topic I started in mods, but I know some collectors dont browse mods. I just want to show this one too as it will also be for sale soon.
Thanks Jay.
Its 90 percent done and its also not painted. Final version will be. Installs with a screw driver and a socket. Very easy..
Quoted from brado426:Very nice! Looks like your 3D printed solution is similar to my solution, except yours is far more professional looking. No one notices the zip-tie (even me) so I've just left it for now. I'm finding more and more reasons to buy a 3d printer recently.
I rewelded mine. I can do the same for anyone else interested just pm me. The stock rings are too thin. They look clean but are not strong.

Responding to wireform breaking post above.
It is possible is best answer, but not absolute. You can not see any welds on the rings. That should tell you how thin of material is actually holding it together. It looks great, but its proving to fail on multiple machines including mine. Very easy to fix so dont worry about it. My set broke at 268 games played. Thats alot of balls beating them up. I would be interested in knowing the break point on the others that posted, I would guess they would be in this ball park. Most areas have welding or autobody shops that would tig weld it back together if asked. If not I can do it.
Edit. I should have welded all the rings!
I am making my own shooter wireform today as this assembly is too thin. Two more let loose this morning!

886BF48A-6F49-47E8-A707-1EFC6AE99B32 (resized).jpegI will create its own topic for search purposes, but I will be selling a replacement shooter lane wireform soon. Its stainless rod and plate and is a direct replacement. Each ring is welded on each side. There are 8 welds on the rings and these would take a hammer to just bend them. The studs are welded to the rod and are #8 screws. They will come with washers and lock nuts. I love this game and if your interested please pm me. I test fit and play everything I make on my machines prior to shipping. I also do not take payment until they are in a box ready to ship. I am a few weeks away as I have gotg to get back to. I want to build another set to verify labor time. These took 3 hours. $50 an hour plus materials. Should be no higher than $200.
My wireform is the one in the front and stock is in back.

I figured I would make a design on top of the replacement wireform for something visually different. I will paint one yellow and black to see the difference, but I am selling this drop in replacement wireform to solve the weaker factory welded ones. $220 shipped to U.S. painted or unpainted. I am following the multiple caution designs around it. Any interest please pm me.

Built by hand and Tig welded stainless steel that will never rust. I blended the paint scheme after all the other yellow and black cautions all over the machine. If your stock ones fail you can have them repaired or if your interested you can just replace it with this mod. Its an option that I wanted to offer at Loganpinball.com. Will be online soon.
Thanks, Jay
Quoted from paulbaptiste:Unnecessary feedback. You don’t have to speak everything that comes to mind. Sometimes it’s just rude and contributes nothing to the conversation.
You do not know how much I appreciate that. I was typing out a responce to his post and your post came up. As I said I am in a creative funk and sometimes just doing crazy funky stuff gets me out of it. Reading his post did not help. I will just keep the crazy builds to myself going forward and delete the previous one. Thanks for saying what I felt.
Quoted from Baggerman:Do you man.. its your game and if it gets creativity going even better.
Being told you suck by a streamer and a fellow modder well just sucks.. i just dont need that bs in my head. I stated I was in a funk and stil got pounded. A guys on a bridge and your yelling jump is just not very helpfull…
Give someone a chance to do whatever they want. If its not for you just pass it over or click ignore loganpinball its that simple.
I thought this stacking rail would work. The scale was wrong and so was using plate. I just need to cover a opening left behind now. And maybe add something over the now exposed white block lighting. I still need to polish and safety paint this. And I will also do right side to match thats next. But heres pictures and video of stacked return.
Added body above the drop. The shapes just say Alien! Going to clean it up and paint it. I just thought a stacked two ball rail would be interesting. And the sleeper feeds it perfectly. Feel free with any ideas for block white plastic below it. Better day. Better mood. Thanks for the comments.

Also the right ramp that the ball flies off of when hit pure. Are you building any new wire forms for this?
The tail design mech is done and is taking a beating as I absolutely love this game. I want to ensure its operation is sound. Theres 2 radial bearings and its assembled with snap ring retainers. The rest is welded. I just want to make sure the metal does not fatigue. And I am open to making that stacked new left wireform as a mod for sale. If I do that I also need to do the right side one to match the design. If I am matching the right side drop I think it might make sense to make the right return go from 180 ramp down to drop a one piece assembly with the tail mech on it. I need to make it and see. Either way the tail will be for sale in a few weeks. The mech is working great and I have not had to adjust or retighten any part of it. (35 games on it). I want you to bolt the tail in place and just have no issues.
The tail mech wireform eliminates ball jumping of rails. The ball energy hits the pivot mech and the housing also traps it.
Been busy with bond silo wireform mod, but I am spending today doing the right side return mod to match the left. I already like seeing the lane.. I will make it one piece all the way to 180 scoop. I will update as it gets there. And I should have pricing figured out for everything else this week.
I will update pictures here. I dont want to bog down topic.
Started 11am
320 to built. Still have to sand, stone and polish. Plus figure out shooting lane connection. I love the design look on both sides.

I made it to try and have the sleeper ball return on top of the rails. It works and that was my only goal, a two level ball return on a single wireform. Not sure thats ever been done before… To work I added supports, but I used Giger art style ones in the process. Its my machine in the end so it is fine for my tastes, but I understand if its not yours.
If you missed the video hopefully this shows the point of it.
I am building whipping tail and animated hand sets as requested. If you are interested please pm or email Loganpinball@optonline to get them. The set includes the animated hand and tail together. The tail and hand are both painted black. They are very easy to install and the tail is driven mechanically by the ball. The hand is linked to the jaw pivot (metal tab) and is easy to install. You just need to remove the xeno head and thats 2 screws. Working on directions now. I updated my topic and thanks to baptise for asking questions to clarify the ad.
Shipped to U.S. $335 for both pieces. Other locations please email me.
Here is a video of the mods so you can understand what they are and dont have to dig around to find them. I can make the tail wireform with or without upper guides as requested.
Please pm me or email to have them built.
