To me, the art is a toss-up. I think the queen on the backglass looks good, but I also like the darker look of the SV. So there's the alien head side rails...I feel like they are a bit understated. I mean, I like them, but I'm not sure how much of an overall impact they make. It's really down to the 2k, and it's easier for me to pull the trigger on ~9K shipped vs. ~11k shipped. Over 10k still has a slight mental hurdle for me, unless it's just a knock my socks off, gotta have it difference. Sorry for the mental rant, I'm just trying to firm up a decision.

FYI Cato is investigating on my machine that the hypersleep ramp is over bent from factory... this may be an issue for a few machines out there. There is a very pronounced, hard, bend at the very start of the ramp that saps ball energy preventing momentum from carrying the ball up the ramp to the chamber. I think in this case, if you weren't 100% all in on the LV from day 1 (ie, you are a raving, rabid Alien fan), I'd be ecstatic with an SV, it's 2k cheaper and it's a great looking machine - obviously more Alien oriented (in terms of looks) than the LV which is more of an Aliens flavor which may or may not be a plus/minus depending on your preference. There are no playfield or gameplay changes and the features are all purely aesthetic.
I am a rabid fanboy, so was always going to go LV - and looking at the fantastic art, powder, rails, extra lighting I'm more than happy with it. I mentioned before, but a lot of people were disappointed that they didn't increase the screen size like the HWY version, but I think its MUCH better to have a standard size screen with some killer artwork. Also, call me crazy bit I prefer the stubby beacon toppers to the custom ones being produced for the LV too.
