Wow ... a pinball playfield with illuminated inserts ! Boahh ! Bummer.
It seems they do not use bulbs, it looks like more modern stuff. Might be light-emitting diodes. i heard about that stuff.

I would bet they just redesigned the lighning on the contact blades as some people did for Alien.
The original Alien has 2 LED on a small pcb mounted behind the contacts from the slingshots. Makes no sense to light the back of the contact blade.
Some guy redesigned them and put the ligts to the side, so illuminate in direction playfield. Very good effort !
At least a guy from Germany re-redesigned and put on a thirs LED shining to the back. With this pcb the Whole slingshot get light from this pcb and also from the regulat slingshot lightning.
If this is the case, the people from PinballBrothers are very clever and read here on pinside and in the german forums about enhancements and use them for the remake. This is great !! In return we Alien owners got a softwareupdate long time after Heighway was broke.
On the pics you see the first remade pcb´s with 2 LED shining to the left and right from the slingshot contact. Big improvement ! Other pics are the new third LED on the backside.
Also you see a selfmade testapparature for several electronics from the Alien. It is not mine ! Dont ask where to get it !

The only topper that I've liked so far are the beacons. I will definitely be getting those as an add-on for my SE when available.

He saw an actual video of THIS game, that no one else has seen? Another 'hehe I know something you don't know'? Unless you have proof of said video, which you didn't provide, there is no reason to believe this.
That is all I found, and is just a video talking about the Cointaker ad - no video of the actual machine.

Wow this is great news! I just listened to the podcast and it is confirmed around 17.30 mark is when they say it. Hopefully this means that next week we will get to finally see some video of game play! I can't wait

For me personally? no. I don't even want the beacons. I'm fine going with the SE. Man its tough not getting excited about once again possibly owning this pin. I really hope it works out.

Great prop! But to really make it a bit more authentic think you should bend the license plate a bit & add some patina ...that looks way too clean to be taken out of a sharks belly! I for one “want to believe” Alien & Jaws will eventually both make their way into my collection and reside next to each other in prefect razor sharp teeth harmony. Both Alien & Jaws have the greatest use of the quote using BITCH....

I fought the urge myself but then I saw some in person at the California Extreme a couple years back and then it was game over , man. What I'm really Jonesing for is a Satans Hollow machine of any shape or size.
