I could see them experimenting with an all plastic sheet (no sides) with a flat screen integrated inside it. A detachable ribbon cable powers the monitor, and the plastic would be sturdy enough to support some horse armor DLC topper or whatever. The “back box” would be detachable as a ribbon cable can easily be disconnected.
