I play TPA on steam with an Xbox controller, and it makes me wish real tables (other than demo man) had triggers for flippers. Ergonomically its much better.
It may not be identical but wouldn't expect it to be. I can say that when I have played any of those games in person, understanding how they play and even some of the reflexes carry over. Real flipping is still very different but it can make you a better player.
