Quoted from PinDeLaPin:How is that WT Kentucky Spiriit? I've been tempted a few times to pick it up but just haven't pulled the trugger on it.
It’s a special barrel pick,so it may taste different than the normal stuff.Rare breed is excellent in my opinion,I prefer it over the Kentucky spirit.
Lots of barrel picks going on here.Wild Turkey has started to take up a lot of space in my collection.
Quoted from TKDalumni:Needed a refill on McKenna and stumbled on this A Midwinter Nights Dram Limited Engagement. Any thought on the High West?[quoted image]
I can only give an opinion on the one I have. Wow,where to start, very complex, like a roller coaster and changes from sip to sip. It is different in a good way, worth trying and owning in my opinion.
C551991D-7D1E-4962-BE0C-3BD1C9EC9393 (resized).jpegYesterday’s haul, the one in the middle is going to Kentucky with me tomorrow.Everyone at the meet up is bring something different to try. I am bringing widow Jane 10,little book3 and the applewood rye. It will be interesting what I come back with, going hunting after all the tours.

I am a BIG proponent of “poor mans pappy”,if there is a work around for MWND,then go for it....
I am back, liver sustained heavy damage! New batch of ECBP will be coming soon to a store near you..

My guy got 2 bottles total, never called me. Oh well. Hunting season will be over soon, bourbon hunting that is. Did okay this year but still disappointed.
Booker’s has been pretty good this year,3 out of 4 are good.
Quoted from TKDalumni:I have batch 9..which one the battle?
Me and the wife both picked batch 12. 9 is a very close second place. Both punch WAY above their price point,50.00$ if you can find them around here.
Quoted from BlueIrocGuy:Question for you guys on this thread...
What’s a EC barrel proof A119 worth? Is it tasty or better to look for a A120 batch?
Seek out the A120,of those two it is the winner. I paid 45.00$ for A119.
.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Oh my, no more yanky the wanky.... I went for a ride on the smoke wagon last night and I got smoked! Damn i'm feeling rough this morning
Uncut unfiltered in the house! Yesterday’s haul was expensive. YOLO. I may open the Smokewagon tonight,I will post a review after.
C1AA9E0F-8F96-40FB-BB52-597994081EA3 (resized).jpegQuoted from PinDeLaPin:I think tonight I might limit myself to water
I had water last night, tonight the choices will require some pondering. Some new stuff, some old favorites, some restock....

Have you cracked open that 4 grain Colonel Taylor yet? I have searched high and low and multiple States for that bottle and also for the barrel proof and I have yet to come across either one of them.
The four grain is still unopened, have you seen what people are asking for those? I have a firm open date for a few of the unicorns, the four grain, not yet.
A major chain by me has the Smokewagon, they just got it in,it didn’t even have a price sku yet.We checked the price and put it in the basket.
Got to try EHT Amaranth recently,WOW.. wish I could find that.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I am a big fan of the tailor line I really enjoy the single barrel I have never once seen the barrel proof or the four grain I'm definitely not the amaranth in the wild anywhere. But those are definitely at the top of my list of bottles that I am trying to find and add to my collection
Same place I had the Amaranth had the barrel proof,it was excellent. Old Fitzgerald 15 is getting opened in 5 days.
308D9A27-E4A3-47C1-9606-43C41DC01399 (resized).jpegQuoted from ATLPinGuy:Now I know where all the hard to find bottles have gone! Very impressive.
The one that got away,ha ha ha ha......
EDCE91C2-3C6E-43DD-BC49-4E2213C37A9D (resized).jpegQuoted from PinDeLaPin:Yeah that son-of-a-bitch would have sat right where you saw it. No way I would ever drop that kind of money on a bottle and especially if I wanted to stay married. I sure would like to have a glass full of it though to try
The wife took that picture! A week later she went back and it was gone!! I bet it is super tasty..
27B614E3-293D-4BD3-9835-C76CABC6EEF7 (resized).jpegQuoted from Chisox:Nice rack. Even has a bottle of Mellow Corn!
That was a gag gift for the wife, speaking of’nice rack’.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Where are you guys finding that Bakers 13 and how much does it go for?
One and done from “my guy” ,that is all he got. 110.00$
Quoted from beergut666:Yeah, the Booker's was one bottle per customer, but there were about 20 sitting on the shelf so I don't see a problem with me going back to double dip. No bottle limit on the other two so I plan on getting at least two of the EC, those are $16 less than they have them priced at Total Wine and I really like that particular batch.
What batch of EC? Was it A120? I still don’t have that
Quoted from Green-Machine:Any good?[quoted image]
I am looking for that myself! The Smokewagon uncut is really good.

Holy Shit! That is the wife’s Holy grail game! We played it in Michigan at the VFW May shindig,on the way home I asked what her favorite game was......
She likes the rare and good stuff, without knowing how rare or expensive. Good taste I guess.
Going to open something new tonight.hmmmmm,
Never heard of the Archives, wife got it yesterday with one of her favorites IW Harper 15.
There were two different barrel 18’s.Hope I got the good one.
As far as the Smokewagon,l only have the uncut,I am curious about the small batch as well.
Quoted from TKDalumni:Archives sounds interesting..the story and proof seem right on the money. Try that!
That’s what I said!Barrel proof is my jam! Got some other new stuff to try also....

Is it too early to start? Damn quarantine!
Quoted from TKDalumni:Would 60% W107 & 40% W12 be a good Poor Man’s Pappy mix? And is it “worth it” to do?
Yes it is worth doing, but,to do it right it needs to sit in a mini barrel for a month at least. Even mixing it without the barrel I think it is better than those bottles separately. Just my opinion but I have done it both ways.
19F60353-5F25-4B5F-97E1-4AFF24EE4EEC (resized).jpegQuoted from Chisox:Nice haul! Would you mind posting your thoughts on the HH Archives if you crack it? I passed on one today but was really tempted to grab it.
It was epic! Why oh why did you pass?! So smooth I can’t believe it is 131 proof,I think it is better than C919 ECBP. It was so good I didn’t open anything else,
head to heads will have to wait.
Quoted from Chisox:Speaking of Heaven Hill, I grabbed a bottle of butterfly American whiskey on the way home. I passed on it last week but it’s been getting great reviews (including here) and HH’s primo bottles, Old Fitz, Parker’s, etc have always been good to me. The 131 proof part doesn’t hurt either.
[quoted image]
I sent the wife back for another bottle, they had none of the 131.6 left. I told her not to get the other batch, don’t know anything about it.
I am interested to know what you think about this stuff. I am past 1/2 empty on my bottle, .
Quoted from Chisox:Here’s to you! Happy Whiskey Wednesday, cheers!
I just told the guys at work “fuck off, see you Friday”. Gonna be a good night.
[quoted image]
Have not had any peerless yet,I hear good things,I am hunting it. Today’s haul. They were out of the 131.6 batch so I got the last bottle they had from a different barrel, hope it is as good!

Picked up a few Barrell batches this week, and did a blind flight. Really loved #18, with #15 a close second. Batch #23 was solid, but a bit too Dickel flintstones-vitamins-y for my taste. Any other batch recommendations?
[quoted image]
Here is my secret to this brand,if it says Tennessee run for the hills. If it says Kentucky it could be good.I have not had a lot of luck with this brand.
When it is sourced from Tennessee it has a funk I don’t care for. It will say where it comes from on the front and back label.
Quoted from Whysnow:A few questions...
Kentucky Owl 12yr? Bourbon... typical price and worth it?
Old Medley 12... same question
I have not seen these in a while and they popped up. Trying to figure out if they are worth grabbing and reasonable price.
Thx guys
I googled Kentucky owl 12 and found nothing. Do you have a picture? I have batch 9,not confiscated,so that specific bottle is all I can help you with.
There are lots of you tube videos out there but I still can’t find this ‘12”
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Scott you inspired me to pour myself a drink of ET.
[quoted image]
You heard this stuff is going away, right? Brown-Forman sold it and Canadian mist to Sazerac. Better stock up if you can.
It may come back as something completely different,or not at all. I don’t think they bought the recipe, only the name.
I’m going to have to open one of these! I couldn’t find any information on the 2020-9 year online. After I got it I was trying to find out if I missed the news of it coming, crickets. The 2018 release info and reviews are everywhere.
Now to get the 16yr........l.
Quoted from Bax1:what does that old Fitzgerald usually run and is it easily found?
Historically it is 10$ per year MSRP. 15 year 150.00 etc. It will not be sitting on shelves, kind of like pappy.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:The only 2 I have is small batch and single barrel. I"ve never seen the barrel proof or the 4 grain or the amaranth. I'm always open for trades if snyone has a bottle of barrel proof.
Meanwhile,somewhere in Georgia,if it doesn’t get looted...
Per bottle...
988CF51F-6931-40D6-A9D1-4D8D75303E3A (resized).pngQuoted from DBLM:Eh, not really a Taylor guy. I am sure some tater will jump all up and down on those.
I will keep my eyes peeled for the Single Barrel for you. Do you have any interest in Aramath? I have seen that around recently.
Ditto,how much?
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:I've been wanting to try this one and I just swung by total wine and they had it.
[quoted image]
I am looking for that! When I find it,I can finish the small bottle. It does taste different than anything current. I have tried it next to the entire Beam line up.

[quoted image]
2014 was the only “Hazmat” WLW batch. I have had a dram of that 2014 recently,it’s hot but the classic WLW flavor still comes through. I thought it was good.
FCD3E594-E05C-4D35-BF2C-C56D0D018931 (resized).jpegQuoted from CaptainRedEye:I've been looking for a Weller Antique for years and have never been able to put my hands on one. I keep hearing that certain places have an abundance (not so much in the western Chicago suburbs). If anyone has a few and would be willing to part with one, I would make a very generous offer (buy or trade).
What do you have to trade?
Quoted from CaptainRedEye:I'm not juiced in with Binnys or smaller liquor stores, so nothing too fancy. Is there anything specific you are looking for?[quoted image]
I only have 1 unopened bottle. I think I can get a replacement,I was looking for something I didn’t have. If I get another bottle, I will let you know! I don’t see anything I don’t have in that picture, kind of looking for a backup bottle of Rock hill farms.
Quoted from gjm7777:I know it makes me a monster, but I still feel that Old Forrester is the best tasting bourbon you can get for the price, even over Elijah.
I have quite a few Old Forester variants, have you tried the top tier stuff? I am looking for a DI LE to buy,I would let you try a generous pour of your choice for a fair price on a machine I know you are looking to move.

I have been chasing this game for a while. Right now it is better to be closer. I am less than 20 miles from someone that wants to move a DI LE. We are both in norther I’ll. I am attempting to persuade him......
27DCFF04-13D1-4D4A-BDBB-758E2F287886 (resized).jpegQuoted from Green-Machine:Judging by those shoes I’m not sure you want to deal with him LOL let’s see the top of that bottle. I’m guessing you didn’t open it yet
It’s open,want to make a bet?
1/3 gone,it’s hard to see with the dark brown bottle. Batch 1 is Very good,it has mellowed quite a bit since opening it. The wife was not a fan when we first opened it,she said it was too hot! I will get her to revisit it,I think she will like it,I do!
Did not get birthday this year, sad face. I was hunting it for months. This year was hit or miss with all of the CV19 crap.
