    Quoted from Mudflaps:

    ^^
Thanks for the suggestions. I prefer a milder sipper with a sweet, oaky nose. Not a fan of peat. I go back and forth with casks (sherry casks with Macallan, rum casks with Balvenie Caribbean).
I typically keep higher quality sippers and 'decent' $30 bottles for cocktails (Makers). I bought the Buffalo Trace as a mixer but read good reviews about the spice, nose, etc.

I think you'll really enjoy four Rose's as a mixer. It is so underpriced for its flavor and smoothness. Remember how cheap Weller12 was back when? I dont think 4 roses will get that crazy but I have a case of small batch in attic anyway.

I personally hate peat or smoky anything so remember that when considering my thoughts. I bounce between single malts and bourbon often. If you have not had the chance to try I would recommend Eagle Rare, Wellers, Elijah. Pretty much every bottle mentioned in this thread comes as a good recommendation.

If you want to get into some single malts I recommend sippers like the spot brand. Green, yellow and red spot are all good. I had a green spot finished in some sort of fancy wine cask other day and it was great.

If you ever see a bottle of Pendyern Madeira finish I recommend scooping it up although it is rare to find. - Took me 3 years of asking our local large distributor to get distribution setup.

Love bourbon like these folks but I still dream about Macallan 21 and 24 once a month as well.

Thanks for the tip! I ordered the smaller "select" size, but they're looking good.[quoted image]

I can tell you that Florida spiny lobster is not only delicious but also stupid cheap because it cant be exported right now.

I havent checked online pricing but locally we are getting it 8 dollars cheaper a pound

Also not bourbon related except for fact I've killed a few 4 Rose's working on her this week.

    Quoted from DBLM:

Nice! What's the story on this?

    Barn find.

Sitting in a barn since 1987.

Older buddy of mine wrecked his mothers new Toyota Landcruiser. Rolled it 3 times drunk while jumping a ditch as a junior in HS.

His pops wouldntnpay to repairs the body even though frame, mechanical everything else was fine.

His pops took a seized 48 jeepster. Chopped the body. Stretched and heightened it and put it on top a landcruiser everything. With 14,500 original miles....

Anyway. 2,000 $ later she is mine.

Wait till next month when I show you my 47' studebaker champion convertible barn find. <31000 miles. 100% original. Even has after market studebaker parts still in the box

    [quoted image]

Met a close family friend last night I hadn't seen in a few months for a social distant drink.

Hes in his 70s and is a retired MD. I brought my bottle of Weller12. We each brought our own glass and ice.

We say at ends of a 10 foot picnic table and drank that whole sumbitch between us over the next 2 hours (minus one small sip I had to pour out to yhe park ranger to leave us alone
