Well....?
Quoted from Green-Machine:Ohhh Do tell!
Wow I never thought I would be typing this but the Barrel bourbon 18yr imo is much better than the EC 18yr. It is very complex it guves you a mild burn then smoothes out and then picks up a 2nd burn on the back of the tongue. Very very good stuff indeed

Cool. Did your liquor store buy a whole barrel? Looks to be a store pick. Never knew Barrel had 18 yr stock, that’s awesome.

Honestly I'm not surprised. My one issue with the EC 18 is that it's 90 proof. I'd bet there would be quite a bit more depth to it if it was closer to cask strength. It's a bottle I still enjoy quite a bit, but it lacks a bit of punch that I expect out of something that rings in at that price.

Same price point as EC18?

Blu Ray audio kicks it.
I collect all the Blu Ray concerts I can. Seems there are less and less.
You know I'm always down for a glass of rye. This was my last bottle of this batch, and I was holding on to it because I enjoyed it so much. I was in a store today that I had never been in before, and they just happened to have six bottles of this very same batch so I'm cutting loose.

Excellent choice. Did you buy all six?

I only bought one, but I don't think the others are going anywhere. It was a nice little shop tucked in an area where I don't think people are looking for things like this. They have a very good selection for prices that were more than fair. The Willett was $50, and I normally pay $48 at Total Wine. I'll gladly return to this place and keep a little more money in the local economy. They had an arsenal of Booker's in there all line priced at $73, three from 2018 and all of the 2019 batches.

Yes I agree I believe that is the biggest problem with the Elijah Craig is that they are cutting it and not bottling it at Barrel proof with that 18-year aging. It's very interesting I don't know if the picture shows that the Barrel Bourbon is much lighter in color then the Elijah Craig is which is considerably darker. But the taste is just overwhelming in the Barrel Bourbon where the Elijah Craig is just really flat after you try the Barrel Bourbon first. I really would have never guessed that it would have been so disparaging of results for the EC but it is in my book.
Quoted from Cloud7:Going to crack one of these open tonight[quoted image]
Haven't tried that New Years of the Barrel bourbon let is know later on how it is. The ER is a solid drinkeryou can't go wrong there.

That VOB is getting tough to find. My Binny’s puts it the VIP/rare and collectible room with a limit 1 sign.

It was $20 and there was a ton of it. I recall it getting mentioned here so I figured that I would try it.
Quoted from Green-Machine:Rockin’ Bourbon with the BadBrains!
Hell yeah! Saw them many times in the late 80s early 90s.

Punk rocker for life!
Quoted from Chisox:Forgot a buddy brought this for me a while back and it’s been stashed in the back of the shelf.[quoted image]
Woof. Back to the bottomest part of my shelf I can find. This is borderline drain pour city.
Quoted from Whysnow:10 barrels of your special pick for us all to share?
Not so much
Today’s restocking. Had to grab groceries so glad to make the trip worth it!
Blantons for $75. Most I have ever spent on it, but first bottle I have even seen in ages!
Hope this rye is good cause it was way too much. Have heard good things and wife tends to like these double oak w sweet layers so should be a nice surprise for her.
