It was definitely a sad day when that one was over. At least it’s readily available. How were the crowds at Total Wine the other day when you picked up that EH Taylor? Any Coronavirus deals?

Lol I hope no coronavirus peeps! No lines at all I literally was there when they were opening the boxes and putting the stuff on the front desk

Okay. Who wants to try this experiment? I have cabin fever!
I just opened a bottle of OF1920. Wow. It is fantastic. I was thinking about having a group tasting. Join this Zoom meeting at 6:00pm EDT. Pour yourself a few fingers of OF1920. If you don't have it, pour something else. Think of it like a virtual bar. Discuss. (Yes, I realize this is short notice, but join if you can.)

I totally would but I need to get zoom and my wife is a little snappy tonight so I know I’m going get some grief in some form for talking out loud. Yes, I can’t make a noise tonight

I understand. Zoom is easy to get but I understand about wives sleeping gently. I am in the basement so if not tonight, maybe another night. Who ever came up with the idea is a genious. I am having beverages for a while if anybody wants to join. If not, let’s pick a time where we can get the crew.

My last bottle of this store pick, man it was a good one.

Yeah all the OF store picks I’ve had have been really good. So awesome how that label has upped their game. It used to be a bottom shelfer for the most part and have since unleashed 1910, 1920, 1897, the statesman, birthday, single barrel (with store picks) etc. to become a powerhouse.

I was really happy to hear that this year the single barrel picks will be upped to 100 proof, and a barrel proof will be coming at some point as well.

Just do like I did. Pull bottles out of your bunker, stick in front of the camera, and discuss. All while enjoying a pour of your favorite. pindelapin even talked me into opening a few new bottles that I had squirreled away.

I had fun as well. We might be better off with something that doesn't limit on the time. Not sure if Google Hangouts allows unlimited time/participants?

    #4316 57 days ago

I think zoom premium is unlimited time?

    Anyone have that?

Would be great to have a Friday evening 'happy hour' for this group.
Set up in advance and I can make my schedule work.

Hey bmore-pinball, are you on the water?

No, but we had a boat for most of my childhood and adult life
Got out of boating in 2011

It looks like the free (Personal) WebEx account allows for 100 people and unlimited time.

    https://www.webex.com/pricing/index.html

-Up to 100 participants in each meeting (Up from 50)
-Meet as long as you want (Up from 40 min limit)

I am going to test this out this afternoon to see how it works out.

I also have a Kentucky owl not opened and my first bottle. I just am waiting on new backyard to Be finished in a few days to open.

    #4321 57 days ago

Maybe we can all do a Kentucky Owl tasting then when the time is right.

    #4342 55 days ago

I believe that Google Hangouts would work.

I did test Cisco WebEx that I mentioned earlier, and that will definitely work. They recently updated their free plan to include up to 100 users and unlimited time.

(Why am I suddenly feeling a slight pressure to set one of these up again...)

    https://cart.webex.com/sign-up

It's free, and no credit card required!

(But you only need an account to host a meeting--you don't need an account to join one.)

This is very similar in taste to Blantons with just a little more burn.
