    Quoted from egyptrus:

I know it’s not bourbon but my local Costco had green spot on the shelf today. Couldn’t pass it up at around $40.[quoted image]

I don't drink as much all malt whiskey these days, but that is for sure a good one and at $40 I'd buy a couple. The only Irish I have right now is a bottle of each of the Jameson Caskmates variants. I'll probably pick up another bottle of Knappogue Castle 12 soon, probably my favorite Irish at the moment.

Woodinville whiskey company is celebrating its 10th anniversary this weekend. They had special events for that, and two special releases to commemorate it. So my Sunday started on the right foot at 9:30am by visiting the distillery and tasting these and tasty cocktails made out of the bourbon

They even offered an opportunity to sign a barrel and then get updates on its journey to maturity. Then 5-6 years down the road you can go and taste it, and if you like it you can bottle your own. Had to do that of course.

They had also a triple barrel whisky that had a hint of peaty in the nose and taste. I'm normally not into that but had to get it alongside the anniversary bourbon.

Now, what to do the rest if the day. I think I should have another glass of bourbon perhaps...

Is that anniversary batch just available at the distillery or do you know? The regular woodinville is really good stuff

I don't know, but would guess it's distillery only. They have other bourbons too that I've not seen in the wild, eg the port cast bourbon

Picked up a few while in DC this weekend. Not super rare but they were stupid cheap and I wanted to try the 10 year and the cask.

I will be heading to the UK in a week for a work trip. Evenings should have some free time.

Anything in particular I should hunt for to ship home to myself?

I was told Pappy was a lot easier to find in England, so you might be on the hunt for that.

Now everything I’m told is expensive as hell over there, but I had a buddy come back with a 10 yr and said he could’ve bought more.

    Blanton's SFTB.

Maybe some other oddball export-only offerings as well, but definitely SFTB.

Makers 101 is a duty free exclusive

    Love Blanton’s neat style.

I believe its a barrel proof that is only available as an export but I could be wrong.

After trying William Larue Weller last night, I'd really love to get a bottle. Anyone selling one or want to trade?

I've been looking for a bottle of it for about 3yrs now. A local shop had a high end bourbon auction a few months ago and the 1 bottle they had went for $700. Needless to say I didn't get the bottle.

Just picked this up while getting a birthday gift for somebody. Big fan of this. Anybody else on board?

Yes sir. It's a sleeper pick around here always on the shelves and always in my collection. It is 1 of my go-to bottles and very consistent profile.

It is popular out here. Getting harder to find. This was the last bottle at this particular store.

I haven't had a bottle of this in a long time so I picked it up today.

Total wine by me sells the Widow Jane for $69. I've thought about buying a bottle its just that I see other things I want 1st.

I think it’s worth no more than $45 but who am I...... maybe if it was older. It lacks the complexity of whiskeys at its price point. It may open up a little with a drop of water or ice. I haven’t tried that yet but I do have a bottle at home so maybe I’ll go that route next time

    #3639 3 days ago

Yeah there are a lot of bottles I feel warrant a $40-45 price and yet they are $60-70+ a bottle. Too bad you can't try before you buy I would save a lot of money that way

It's hard to beat this stuff when you can pick it up at Sam's for like $24 a bottle

Nice! Just read a review on Reddit 20 minutes ago and it sounds like it’s a top 2 or 3 batch. Look at the color! Always a good sign.
