I don’t mean to keep flexing with these bottles but further evidence to join all the local whiskey pages/clubs you can. Paid more than retail but still got a good deal. I really need to stop buying this stuff, but it’s so damn delicious.

    Same liquors or different ones?

Same with maybe an addition or two. Big silver box from when I saw it last weekend. Costco’s in MD don’t have a liquor section or sell bottles but these are just in the seasonal food section.

How do I go about finding local clubs?

Facebook/Instagram to start. Madison is one of the coolest towns in the country, there has to be multiple whiskey societies/clubs up there. Go to bars with good whiskey and chat up the bartenders and/or your local liquor stores. When you do private barrel selections it needs to be distributed to a local liquor store or bar. You’ll be holding that OF Birthday Bourbon before you know it.

In addition ro the straight bourbon, Woodinville whisky company makes a few other varieties as well.

I really like this bourbon finished in port casks. The nose has notes of cherry and raisin among other fruits, and the taste is rich, deep, fruity and very sweet. The burn is long and suitably strong but mellow. Tasty!

Whoever sent me the last request for the weller full proof i'm sorry to report all I had is gone and my 2nd source is also all out. Sorry I accidentally deleted your pm and couldn't remember who sent me it. I get a lot of requests for bottles and sometimes I lose track of who asked for what.

I sell analytics software to the government and had at one point a team of data scientists that worked for me that I would sell their services. When you see what people can do with data and social media it will make you never want to do social media. Case in point, with about 7 FB postings algorithms can determine race, sex, creed, political leanings, sexual orientation, income levels, etc.

Just remember, when you don’t pay for a product, you are the product.

Thats the exact reason I don't participate in that shit. It's absolutely amazing to me the info people will voluntarily give to these social media companies.

I'm noticing a theme here. Middle aged men drinking heavily, playing pinball, and not on social media. A data scientist could have a field day on us!

I’m seriously thinking about it. I’ve heard it’s the best show. Plus I get to get out of the worst state in the union and enjoy some warmish weather. Win, win, win!

    #2773 4 years ago

So my wife found my stash by going behind the bar and stubbing her toe on a bottle. So I told her I’d get a shelf and display all the bottles all nice.

Love double oaked! Try Old Forester 1910 if you haven’t yet. It’s double barrelled also and tastes like chocolate caramel ice cream.

Speaking of UD I’m predicting Final Four for their b-ball team.

Have you been to UD Arena for playoff games. They host every year. I’m not really into it but it’s a rare treat to be near by to some good college B-ball

Well if we both go to TPF we can have a couple pours and watch the Flyers in the tournament.

Century whiskey bar is in downtown Dayton. It is a really cool and a century old bar. There is a whiskey bar in Middletown called Bourbon’s. Also in Dayton is Canal street barcade and deli. Pinball and spirits

Ho Ho Ho... Santa shipped out a bottle of one of my favorites and it arrived early. Looks like Christmas dinner will be a big hit now!

It may have been me. If you find anymore, please let me know.

In regards to the Willett Family bottle: I would be really interested in it. Happy to pay cost+shipping.

I can also get a WP 10yr store pick for cheaper than the normal offering that you had posted. I believe it’s on sale for about $80 right now.

    #2793 4 years ago

Stopped in a new spot tonight and saw a couple of bourbons I’ve never seen before. Also, this place had Weller Antique for $110 if anyone is interested.

I have basically given up on finding good bourbon at normal prices in/around ATL so I sent my BIL in Texas a list and he agreed to go on the hunt. 2nd stop of the day. $55

Well that’s two votes each way. I’m a big fan of higher proof bourbon so 1920 is probably the one. Gotta try both eventually.
