Visited my haunt and made some purchases. Any opinions on the Makers or Bibb? Have not had any of the Bibb before.

The Barrenjagger is just for fun. Tried it at my local German restaurant and fell in love with it. Sadly, they did not have the honey bourbon, which is tremendous.

Damn, the Maker’s wood finished is fantastic. Very, very smooth. Anybody else had it yet?

Yes! I bought a bottle then went back and bought two more the next day before they sold out. It’s outstanding.

Curious what your thoughts are these two I have not tried....

I’ve heard that Woodford is really good and would be my choice of the two. Jos. Magnus is pretty good but not $100+ good.

I thought the Magnus was sourced different all the time?

Some bottle are fantastic! Some are not my style. Depends on what they source. Local place just got some in that is WAY different than last time.

As Whysnow stated the Magnus is sourced and differs from batch to batch and is hit or miss and not worth the $$ IMO. Personally I would pick up the bottle of Angels Envy thats next to it in that pic it's really good stuff and very difficult to find around here and way cheaper at about $65 a bottle. Never had that woodford and there are some seriously big name bourbons in that price range I would buy 1st.

Thank you! I have the Angels envy and the rye envy at home and agree that it is very tasty. There is a lot out there to try but didn’t want to commit to a bottle not knowing. Thanks again

Did a back to back with the last 2 batches of Stagg jr. Both are very good, the latest batch is better, highly recommended. It does not say what batch # on the bottle, you have to look it up by proof.

Wow that's so cool. To think you would buy a whole Barrel just so you could send everybody in the pinball and bourbon thread a bottle for Christmas. How very kind of you. PM sent with my shipping address

Grabbed a couple of my faves today. Really want to crack them tonight but tomorrow will be here soon enough.

Found a store that had multiple bottles of stuff that seems to disappear quickly when it comes around here. Weller Antique, Buffalo Trace, EH Taylor Small Batch, etc. Grabbed my favorite of the bunch and will be going back for a couple more.

Hey bourbon fans... I am not part of the gift exchange but I thought I would just share this chill video link as a gift to you all. Have been following this amazing musician for over thirty years and am sipping some Elmer T Lee while watching this outdoor concert from a couple weeks ago that was just posted. Check it out with your favorite pour if you have the time and hope you enjoy.

It is a local (Illinois) distillery that picked some primo barrels sourced from MGP a few years ago and finished them in the crazy Illinois climate and they turned out amazing. They release every quarter and it’s gotten ridiculous the lengths people go to get them now. People come from all over the country or drive (even from KY) and rent hotel rooms (or sleep in their car) to wait in line overnight for a bottle upon release. I did not pay $325. They have store picks that I’ve seen go for $600 which is absolute madness. I actually haven’t had it in a while because of the crazy prices and cracked that bottle last night for a nip and ....meh.

All santa info has been sent. Most had suggestions of what they like/ don't like. Those suggestions are simply a guide to help you! Dont feel pressured to get anything specific. This is your gift to give. What really matters is the thought.
I suggest having a little fun with it, do some internet stalking to see what they like, and make it something special.
This is going to be fun!
PLEASE PM me once you ship your gift so I know. DO NOT POST IN THE THREAD WHEN SHIPPED (that can ruin the surprise for some).
Please ship by Dec 6th at latest.
When you receive your bottle it is requested that you post a picture of the present, open the bottle, and post your review. Bourbon is for drinking so swing it and let us know what you think. Your santa will enjoy hearing from you.
Feel free to open and enjoy as soon as you receive OR feel free to wait til your traditional holiday present opening.
Enjoy and THANKS for all that participated!

Just a reminder... Get out and do your shopping folks.

Ship by Dec 6th. PM once you have shipped so I know.

Grabbed a bottle of EH Taylor Single Barrel today. I’ve never seen it in the wild. He also had a bottle of GTS - $599... he claimed to have sold the first 2 at that price. I was dumbfounded
