Looks like you found quite the honey hole. I hear that 4 grain taylor is quite tasty.

Getting the weekend started a little early (don’t tell my wife). New Riff Binny’s barrel pick, delicious.

Most of those are on the high side, but that seems to be the way it goes anymore. Many of these would be tempting because they are impossible to find in my area. The Parker would be my first pick but not at $250.

    my only thought...

Probably my favorite OFBB year so far. Well worth the cost of entry (and not many bottles I would consider paying anywhere near that TBT).

Most of these are hard to find, especially in PNW, and even if you could find them they'd be much more expensive. If I could grab Stagg for $250 I'd be all over it

    #2207 4 years ago

thanks for the input guys...was just curious

Those are a bit on the high side - but finding those at MSRP are next to impossible.

Only one I would be tempted to grab at those costs would be the Weller 12 (but 100 would be my max - and it is just at it)

Edit to add: This stuff is amazing. Not sure if any whiskey is worth $160 a bottle but I might buy another of these if I saw it in the wild. Plus it’s bottle 109 of barrel #1, how cool is that?

Was shocked to see this today at one of my local shops. Its got a pretty high rye content so it has a spicy warm funish but I really like it so far.

Been lurking here for awhile and have tried a handful of bourbons because of this thread...Blade and Bow, Old Forester 1920, Russell's SB, Larceny, Elijah Craig BP, Willet Pot still, Baker's, Buffalo Trace, and perhaps another bottle or two.

Got 2nd bottles of the Old Forester 1920 (perhaps my favorite of anything I've had) and Buffalo Trace. Despite some of the reviews here, I wasn't very fond of the Willet.

Could never find Booker's locally, but am currently away from home and found this Booker's Country Ham at a Walmart here at Panama City Beach. Will open it when I get back home

Yeah I cracked my OF single barrel last night and it’s pretty good. Not spectacular but it’s got the classic bourbon taste in spades. Also cracked a High West Double Rye Binny’s pick finished in rum barrels. Meh.

Yeah I would agree the OF is not spectacular but its pretty damn good especially for $41. I feel like most of the OF stuff has pretty much the same mash bill cause most of it tastes the same to me

2016 is the best year if you can find it IMHO
    then 2018
    then 2017
    then 2015

finger crossed I will find a 2019 but signs point to doubtful with how popular it has all become

hands down my favorite behind Lot B (cant find that either)

Hadn't bought any in a while, so figured I'd rectify that situation. Hitting some high proofs that have been mentioned here but are new to me. Gonna sip on these during my Twitch streams this week

The wife brought home some Widow Jane 12year,very nice! Super smooth up front, subtle flavors and medium finish.99 proof.
The only problem is the price,90$ a lot of heavy hitters in that price range.

I think Antique is better than the 12 yr. Can’t comment on the FP as I’m not paying secondary prices and bars are charging a ridiculous premium for a pour of $50 whiskey.

I'm finding that bourbon pairs nicely with my kids Halloween candy. #candytax

I had a couple of bottles of the old 6 year bib sent to me throughout the years that this has supposedly replaced when they discontinued it last year. Not life changing, but a super sippable straight-or-on-the-rocks bourbon, and at $13, not guilt inducing to add a splash of ginger and some ice. If I was a KY local, I would have bunkered a few cases of it once they announced it was being discontinued.

Interested to see how the new, likely 4x priced version will be, especially in comparison to another hh standby that was killed off, EC12...

Yeah it is definitely no longer priced at $13 that's for sure it's about 5 times that price now. They never killed off the EC 12 they just repackaged it and it is now called Elijah Craig Barrel proof and is about four times as expensive as the old EC 12 was that I used to buy at Sam's Club for $21 a bottle.
