No drinking during the week? Why do you hate yourself? During the week is when I need the juice the most, no way I would punish myself like that! Is there some underlying somehow good reason behind that decision? If health reason then I get it otherwise you get yourself a glass and a bottle and you get your head back in the game asap
Quoted from TKDalumni:Stopped to pick up some 1942 as a gift and ended up getting a gift for myself too Any thought on this Michters 10yr Single??[quoted image]
Michters is good stuff i've never seen a 10yr by them though. Let us know how it is
Quoted from Forum-ninja:Stagg? What about W.L.Weller ?2018 batch... Iam expecting a 2019 bottle. Hope it is as good as the 2018 is.[quoted image][quoted image]
Now thats some good stuff right there.
Just finished eating hard shell crabs from thecrabplace.com my favorite meal every year. After having beers with crab just a little Jack on the rocks tonight.
Quoted from Fulltilt:Another reason for that detour over this way. (:
The Yee Haw brewery is about 100 yds from The Label and Silverball City.

Wish we had the time. Ended up at Asheville pinball museum. Side note: waste of time and the poorest maintained large public collection I have seen to date. Complete rip off for $15 entry. I suggest not visiting if in the area. Not a single game played 100% and many with messed up flippers and large portions just not working.
We did grab a bottle of old Forester prohibition at the local ABC so not all was lost
Quoted from Fulltilt:Lovin' some Saturday Sam Houston.
Bottle is getting low and boy, the price seems to have jumped about $20!
[quoted image]
Never seen that one what does a bottle go for? As fas as jumping $20 that seems to be the trend for every kind of bourbon

There is never enough time when on a road trip!
Sad about the pinball "museum" in Asheville. Years ago when it opened it was a great place. With all the tourists flocking around, I don't think they really care anymore or else don't have the ability to keep things together.
We are lucky to have an arcade run by someone like Andreas who loves the games and keeps things nearly 100%.

It was about $80 when I bought that bottle. The ones in the store locally now are topping a bit over $100.

Next time maybe visit the Retrocade in West Asheville. It really is a shame about the Asheville Pinball Museum. I have been going there for the last 6 years and they are really having a hard time keeping up with traffic now. They have a great collection of machines, but i think they need to be closed an additional day for repairs. I have had the opportunity to sit and talk with the owner several times and he is a great guy. He also may have over extended himself as he also opened a pinball place 30 minutes south in Hendersonville.
At gatlinburg pinball museum today if anyone wants to play.
WOW it is so much better here! Great selection and playing games!
Bring good bourbon if you come
We still have not found any scores on this trip.
Quoted from Whysnow:One solid find finally
What the hell is it? Come to the home of bourbon and hard to find anything worth note [quoted image]
Ouch $70.. thats $48 around here.

It’s really good. Like really really good.

I totally agree! Does seem as though its getting harder to come by pretty much like everything else though. I guess it's the trendy hipster thing right now to look cool and sophisticated drinking bourbon.

Because everyone and their brother rolls through KY and TN on the hunt for bourbon when they do the trail/tours...
Friends that live down that way usually stock up when they are up here in Yankee land visiting.
The whole insanity of all of this in recent years has me almost completely giving up looking for anything; I'm a relatively young man, and I've probably got enough of the good stuff bunkered for a good 15-20 years (if I average a bottle a month or so) bought at pre-insanity prices. The days of $170 cases of OWA are LLLLOOOOOONNNNNGGGGGG gone...
Should I tire of drinking owa/ec12/w12/er/ecbp, I doubt I'll have any problem finding regular old MM.
Sorry for the doom and gloom, haha.
I'm holding out hope that my couple regular, longtime loyal, mom and pop's call me in November for my yearly allocation of the antique collection, assuming they even get a bottle or two anymore.

I hear ya. I had not really realized how stupid it has gotten till this trip. We have been drinking good stuff since before it was a thing. Hell I remember pappy 23 sitting on my local place shelf 6 deep for months. Lol.
We stopped at BT on the way through and they are running tours 40 people deep every hour all day long every day. And the majority had not had a sip till the tasting at the end. It has really become more than I realized.
Glad I also have a stock pile of the stuff we like. May just have to ration for the next 8-10 year till supply reaches demand and demand likely falls.

Heres Mckenna at my local grocery store. Full disclosure I have never seen it this cheap.

I personally like Maker's 46 but never tried the cask strength version. The price you show is kinda high, it's around $27 around here.

Seemed awful high to me as well. Thx!

I passed on the Makers and instead grabbed these 2 bad boys.

I am beginning to think bourbon is not as popular in your neck of the woods. Seems not only do you have cheap prices but also lots of good selection.

Around here its totally hit or miss and you better be at the store when its a hit cause it goes fast.

Did you happen to go by the Dickel distillery? It was probably a little too close to Nashville if you drove down Chattanooga way.
I would love to make it by some of the places in Nashville, especially the Pennington Distillery. Looks very cool for a "relatively" small operation.

I suggest blantons or Willett at that price point

We were only able to fit in BT, but would love to check out a few more sometime.

When you are down at the BT distillery do you hsve the ability to buy whatever you want or are the top botrles still not for sale there either?
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:When you are down at the BT distillery do you hsve the ability to buy whatever you want or are the top botrles still not for sale there either?
Very little is actually for sale, other than regular bt and er. Sometimes Blanton's. Because of the three tiered system, the distillery must still bring in their own product for sale through a distributor to sell at their on premise store front.
It is not like Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory: There aren't fountains of pappy, and they definitely don't flush the urinals with weller.
Quoted from Forum-ninja:I will be at Buffalo Trace in two weeks. Did they have weller full proof for sale ? In the picture, the bottles had tags, was the stuff for sale?[quoted image]
I'd wager a big time "no" on the weller; the picture is of the locked library at bt, of which none is for sale. They tell you multiple times during the tour, and people still ask at the end, lol.
So I will assume few got lucky with the October 1 Pappy allotment release? God knows I tried. Called every person I knew in KY to score a bottle and struck out.
Quoted from Grandnational007:Very little is actually for sale, they definitely don't flush the urinals with weller.
Well let's just say if they did flush the toilets with the Weller I would apply for full-time fucking janitor and I would never leave the shitter!

Nothing really for sale of notE at BT. Monday’s and Friday’s they get Blantons but you need to be there early. They said when the big boys release that they occasionally will have spillage for sampling but sounds rare
