    Nice! me too.

    Quoted from Chisox:

The best value for me is Old Forester Rye which is an insane buy at $20. The Pikesville and Sazerac drink closer to bourbons if you're a bourbon guy trying to get into ryes.

What are your thoughts on Rittenhouse Rye? I can pick this up for $26.

It’s quite tasty and a good buy for $25. It’s more bourbon-like rather than an in your face rye due to a lot of corn in the mashbill. Pikesville is a 7 yr old Rittenhouse if I remember correctly.

    #1354 13 days ago

Rittenhouse is excellent rye. The price just makes it that much better.

    #1355 13 days ago

Just picked this up on a recommendation and it’s a pretty balanced, easy drinker. Might be a tad pricey for what it is.

If you have a bottle of Col. Taylor laying around put it side by side with that chestnut farms. Its the exact same bottle. The Taylor is darker indicating that it is aged longer but otherwise they are the same.

    #1358 12 days ago

Bottle it as a limited release 'smoked Beam'

    #1359 12 days ago

Well I would have preferred it to be antique 107 for the 12 year but this was all they had and Beggars can't be choosers right?

Can't be too long before those bottles jump to $60 a bottle it's already $50 around here.

    #1363 11 days ago

Lets all fire up the grills, pour some bourbon and crack open some cold ones. While enjoying this great day lets take 2 seconds to remember why we celebrate. Happy Independence Day!

Today’s pickups. Completely shocked to find the Blantons. I haven’t found a bottle in 2 years and I have gotten on 2 in 1 week.
Believe me I need it - no formal announcements but let’s talk in 9 months.

It’s ridiculous. All those years of taking Blanton’s for granted. What are the specs on the wheel gun?

    #1367 10 days ago

    She’s a beaut.

Can we please keep the guns to the gun thread. This is the bourbon and pinball thread.

    Congrats on the blantons

This is one of the most underrated bourbons I know of especially since its only like $38. If you haven't tried it give it a chance I bet you will be surprised.[quoted image]

    Nice Stanley Cup glass

Happy they won over Boston being a Pens fan. Great success never give up story and good for hockey my favorite game. I enjoyed many whiskey new bottles when we won.

That's one of those a-SALT guns isn't it? Hope everyone in the bourbon thread is doing well. I'm going to have to crack open something nice soon.

Its Independence weekend and I feel like we are missing something here. Hmm maybe a photo op is due of a certain George Stagg bottle we haven't seen i a while. What ya say @Fulltilt?

It is and they’re well worth the money.

    #1377 9 days ago

Wow I’m really impressed with these guys. They have the balls to release a 4 year old single barrel bourbon that they distilled themselves that is fantastic. Now they release this 4 yr rye that is outstanding too. I’m starting to bunker these as I think they’re going to start disappearing.

I've been "bunkering" Booker's for a few years now. I'm betting it will get shorter and shorter..
NO, Wait.. you didn't hear me say that. Ignore those bottles on the shelf.

    #1379 9 days ago

Barrel batch #20 is a winner as well. Now if I could just get my hands on a bottle of the new Blaum Bros. 12 year.

Hope yours is better than mine. I bought this bottle bout 5 or 6 years ago when it came out and have just passed it off on people when they ask for jack.

Yep I agree. Always have at least one bottle of it on hand as well. Price keeps creeping higher and higher towards that $100 mark as well at least around here anyways.

Ok gentlemen (women)... what's that favorite glass?
You can't always be doing it straight up. Sometimes it's nice to have a good mixed drink.
Do you have that favorite glass that just makes it right?

Gotta admit I enjoy a nice top shelf margarita every now and then and a long island ice tea hits the spot as well.

Not a true whiskey glass but we have a sentimental attachment to these from my wife's grandmothers bar/hunting lodge from 60-70 years ago. Must have been interesting to see how many .10 cent beers made it through those glasses.

LOVE the Schlitz glasses! Like I'm attached to my frosted hula glasses. Certainly don't have to be whiskey glasses!

Looks like the Tennessee hills have made their way to the hills of Missouri today. A super big thanks is definitely in order to a great fellow pinsider. Not sure he wants to be identified but you know who you are and this is absolutely one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. I truly cannot thank you enough for this true act of kindness. I am already on the prowl for something special to return the favor. Thank you ??????????? and now for the tasting..

This was a Christmas gift from my kids a couple years ago. I was an ASS man until my wife pointed out that it was pretty trashy with all our guests (and their little kids) coming over to play. She also pointed out that I’m 49 going on 12.
