    I’m good with whatever. Thanks!

I apologize, @djreddog. I got there today and they had allocated this Makers release. They did not have any out on the shelf at all and would not sell me another. I will stay on the lookout for you.

Opened this one last week for our 10th anniversary... Had another pour from it today. I taste cola, it was good

Picture is also from the Anniversary, hence the steak. I missed tonight's picture

Forgot to post the Smoke Wagon dinner we were invited too a few weeks ago, my first time trying the Wagon. Came home with a few new bottles in the raffle.

    Next up.

Binnys pick I was not a fan of this the first couple pours but I'm liking it tonight. Complex, not sure of all the flavors I'm getting.

I recall this being hot but I'm not noticing much heat tonght.

I'm in for a Russell's pick. I just lost a bottle bet with a co-worker on that boxing match, not even mad though, it was a fun fight to watch.

Wow $33 for a 750 of BT - and it’s “reasonable”. 3 years ago I was buying handles of Weller SR for $23. Can we restart the flavored vodka hype yet? I’m all in for some orange cream strawberry pickle vodka by Smirnoff. Go buy some now!

    Happy Maker’s Monday! Been looking forward to trying this bottle. My quick thoughts;

Initially, pretty hot, but mellows out pretty quickly. Lots of vanilla and cinnamon, with a pretty short finish. I later added an ice cube and that really opened it up some. As I was telling Hilton, I think it is almost a dessert type bourbon and would be kickass with a s’more. Solid bourbon, but I think it is behind RC6 from last year. That could be more that RC6 was just a tremendous bourbon for what I like.

Look forward to trying again in a week or so after it opens up some more.

As a follow up, I like the second glass a lot more than the first. It has mellowed out (or I am used to it) and I am picking up now vanilla, cinnamon, orange, and honey.

    Quoted from PinDeLaPin:

I got to try it last week and will be passing on this one. There are stores around here with Maker's barrel picks that are way better, and in all honesty I'd take a bottle of regular Maker's Cask Strength over this year's Limited. It's good, but nowhere near as good as RC6 in my opinion. It's also starting to pile up here. It seems to be sitting pretty much untouched, so if I change my mind I have no doubt I can grab one. Total Wine has moved it from the "1 per customer" case to the shelf with all the other Maker's products.

Ok all you guys in the tasting group I just got them all sent out. Should be showing up in the mail here by saturday.

Quick question to fellow bourbon heads that have access to OWA, what's a reasonable price for it? There's no way I can find it in PNW, so I'm at the mercy of trying to find it online at amplified prices. So trying to understand what's a reasonable premium for that (if any), thank you in advance

    -1
    #9196 3 years ago

I think OWA for $80- $100 is a fair value. That's about double MSRP, but if you really want to enjoy some and you can't find it...

I see most traditional distilleries age with barrels horizontal but when I toured a new rickhouse this last summer they stored barrels standing on end. They said it was for easier movement as they could get 4 barrels on a pallet and stack them. Any thoughts on if this makes a difference?

    #9200 3 years ago

I know I've been drinking too much when I completely forgot I sent myself a bottle of bourbon.
Thank you to myself, whoever you are!
