Keeping up with my "buy as much of this when I see it" of ECBP. I still have not seen any C920. And added a few other prizes.

It takes a lot to move the dial for me beer-wise, but I'm drooling for that Expedition Stout Reserve. Here is the Bell's that I've been enjoying lately.

Fuckity fuck fuck. White Sox just lost and are out of the playoffs. Cheers to a great season and a bright future (and all the cash they won me for being unexpectedly good that will be rolled into either a pin or bourbon). I’m gonna be here all night to drown my sorrows. Here’s my craft beer moment, copious whiskey to follow.

I can’t let Phabes drink by himself. Been a while since I had 1920 in the house and I realize that is a mistake. This is so good! Tumbler with Iceball? Check! Bowz pour? Check! South Park COVID special? Check! Day off tomorrow? Check!

    LFG!

I can’t wait for the South Park about the debate, you know it’s coming.

    #8863 3 years ago

I happened to flip to Fox at 9 tonight and they had a special called Let’s Be Real. By Robert Smeigal on SNL fame. They had these awesome puppets that skewered everybody. Trump, Biden, Matt Lauer, etc. Was pretty damn funny and there were no sacred cows. Highly recommend folks catching it on demand if that is your thing.

    #8864 3 years ago

If you like South Park, this is funny as shit. No spoilers, but in the first 10 mins we learn where COVID cums from. Completely legit, and now everything makes sense.

I’ll try to watch the replay in an hour. If not I’m recording it. They always knock it out of the park. (Bad pun alert)

Oh my god, this is so fucking funny! this is hitting everything from the summer. Also, we find out where Corona cums from! Not where I thought 10 minutes ago.

Edit: they just aired a Biden ad in the commercial break. I thought it was a spoof but it was not.

    #8867 3 years ago

    It's been a shit week!!!
Attended the funeral today of a good workmate of 18 years and i was determined to go to the bottlo, buy some Bookers (one of my favs of many years) and have a few drinks to celebrate his life! Unfortunately they tell me that it isn't stocked anymore and i guess i wanted to buy the most expensive i could get. Next choice was some form of Rare Breed Turkey, which i seem to recall seeing different bottles of on this thread. Never been a big fan of Turkey so i passed on that, next costly was something called Legend, never tried it but didn't like the sound of the description. It was going to be between a regular Blantons or Makers 46. I haven't tried the latter but i do like the regular Makers. So here i stand sipping the first glass sorta neat (with ice) and remembering good times with mates.
    Cheers All!!

Enjoy the drink and the memories of the good times. Always sucks losing a friend but at least you have your liquid sidekick there with you. That game looks great also by the way!

Thanks mate and yeah doing so. I guess we're all getting to that age where it's getting closer. I'm 52 and my workmate was only a couple of years older. Look, don't want to bring the joyous tone of the thread down but i guess i've been reflecting on the word "Appreciation"..of great mates and sharing a great drink.
Cheers yeah BOP was the first machine i bought and was in a sorry state for about 7 years (but still playable). It has since had a totally balls and all restore and such a beautiful machine to look at, and more importantly play. I love it so much i may even consider leaving a note in my will to be buried in it

It's all good, @mancave. As numerous of us have said drunkingly said on zooms, this is actually the most wholesome and supportive thread and group of people here on Pinside. Just don't let that word get out. Having just gone through loss myself here this summer, I fully concur that you send up a toast in remembrance and appreciation, not grief. Warm wishes, my friend.

Man I want that barrel proof Taylor. Very nice score!

    #8882 3 years ago

It's probably my favorite pour besides GTS...

$299 a good price for the barrel proof Taylor?

Don't get me wrong I would pay a premium for it because I've been looking for that bottle for many years now but $300 is way too high for that bottle. Of course if you want it and you're okay with paying $300 for it there's nothing wrong with that either.

That’s about 2x’s retail. But like all of these limited releases good luck finding them...It’s damn good stuff though!!

Which do you like better the Weller or the Taylor full proof?

It’s skyrocketing on secondary. $400 + now. It’s very good but it has no business being 400-450. Those are GTS prices.

    Another dispatch from Hilton:

Mushing across Siberia using the northern lights in search of the mythical red waxen seal. After several days and several nights, I find it. Heavy on the vanilla front end. Baking spices and caramel on the back end. A little throat burn but expected for 110proof. The nose is VERY sweet. I like the front and back but not the middle. This is one that will probably upset my stomach with too much. Kind of astringent in belly. It is unique (what they are going for with these) in a good way overall.

Also, I am making an offering to the harvest moon in order for her to grant me luck in the upcoming BTAC lottery. Heavily considering cutting my hair a la a certain podcaster in case it will improve my odds of winning. It is a drastic action, but it is for William Larue Weller. Decisions, decisions. I don't need an excuse to get a new bottle, but it's always nice to have a reason. Tonight I celebrate my 46th trip around the sun. I don't keep a bottle of Kentucky Spirit in the permanent rotation, but when I saw this store pick I had to get it. It came from a store that has pulled some of the best barrels I've ever tasted from multiple distilleries. Cheers!

Thanks man, always happy to lift a glass with an old punk. I'm changing directions. This Bowman Brothers is pretty tasty. I prefer this to the port finished bottle, but would love to get my hands on another John J single barrel.
