You've been awfully quiet lately around here. You haven't run out of booze or anything have you? If so i'll get a bottle out tk you asap. We can't have you going dry on us

    #7765 3 years ago

I don't check in often, but thanks for all the photos and reviews. I'm a bourbon convert after years of drinking only Scotch and Irish whiskey. I've gone through bottles of Buffalo Trace, Four Roses, Eagle Rare, Jefferson, 1792, etc. Love 'em!

That felt good to say didn't it? We are like a support group for people who have seen the light and have abandoned other sub-par spirits.

Still stocked up on bourbon at the house. A lot of ups and downs lately. Hopefully I’ll snap out of it.
Been staying occupied tearing apart my TotAn. She hasn’t been treated well and is in need of TLC. 1000 q-tips and $500 in parts and bulbs.... then I will claim it into my collection. I’m such a pristine pin snob... maybe more OCD than anything

    #7768 3 years ago

It looks like you are giving it some quality TLC from the pics you posted. Look forward to seeing more.

Quick little review of Knob Creek Rye

    Cost: 33 bucks (American)
    Age: NAS
    Proof: 100
Glassware: Solo Cup, rested about 2 minutes

Color: Fresh Motoroil. I would say very close to Royal Purple 30 weight

Smell: Pepper and Mint, but not peppermint.

Taste: Front of the tongue with pepper and mint. Strong and bold, even more than I was expecting. Good oily mouthfeel.

Finish: Back of the tongue for about 8 seconds. Starts out a little fiery, but finishes smooth. Short finish.

Overall: Award winning rye that I thought was ok the first sip but better the second. Not very complex as compared to the Whistlepig Piggyback I pounded last week, which I prefer. Still very decent and gets the job done.

Would I buy again: Probably not. For the same money or a little bit more there are rules that I like better.

    Bourbon equivalent: Henry McKenna BIB

First try of Habanero relish #1. VERY nice.
    It deserves a Texas bourbon!

Version #2 looks to be even better.

I'm with ya' brotha'. My dad had me being a Scotch drinker from 45 years ago..
I still love 'em and they will probably always be #1 in my heart.

But now I have the bourbon addiction!

Here’s to finally getting Meteor to boot and play. Such a great game. Now just have to get the GI and sound working and I’ll be ready to do a playfield swap and she’ll be done. Cheers!
