Is that just a local bottle or what i've never heard of it?

    #7403 3 years ago
    Quoted from PinDeLaPin:

Send a link to the bottles you bought so I can order mine and I will go nxt after Green-Machine

I'm going to go last. I am getting enough sample bottles from you guys that I won't have to buy my own.

    Quoted from amkoepfer:

Yup, thats me! Cant drink at work or id join. I just got this for me and a bottle for bax1

And Andy can confirm this--my currency when dealing with pinball parts is bourbon. Spend whatever you think the parts I am giving you are worth and buy me a comparable bottle. Sometimes it's Wild Turkey, and sometimes it's Booker's. But one thing is that it is always "fun."

best part is once we get through the cycle then we can start a 2nd round of this if people are still enjoying it...

    and recycle all the bottles!

I really enjoy when we get together for our little bourbon brothers meetings. I know I can count on bowz and Fulltilt to get hammered and make me laugh. Pretty sure we are gonna get DBLM so shit faced one of these weeks he will be butt ass naked riding his inflatable swan around his pool singing "burning love".

Here is the selection from the one store I was in today if anybody wants me to pick them up anything. The best thing I saw was the Old Carter Rye, batches 5 and 6.

No, it's not a local. Outa' Boone County, KY.
My neighbor gave me a bottle for helping to look at his pins. I had to get some more and found it out of Nashville.

When a bourbon makes the Robb Report that's serious.
I'm going to hesitate from calling it epic, but it's pretty damn good....
I'll share some with you next Zoom. (:

What’s up homies? Don’t sleep on the Remus Reserve. 12 year MGP high rye small batch bourbon. A little pricey but very good stuff.

Well? How was the "Bretts Pick" bottle?

    #7435 3 years ago

Nice little treat just showed up. Thx @Whysnow. No time to waste let's get this baby open.

    Quoted from PinDeLaPin:

Well? How was the "Bretts Pick" bottle?

Well, it's interesting to me that a single barrel can have a unique and different flavor profile than the rest and I have to say Brett picked a good one.
It has lot of the same flavors as the regular bourbon, but I'd say they are more pronounced and 'deep'. The nose has a lot of caramel, vanilla and green apple in it and the palate amplifies these. Additionally you get some oak, a little bit of pepper and I think some cherry as well. The palate is quite deep and comprehensive, strong even, but if you use too much ice it'll water down too much imho. Finish is long and lingers on with some leathery tones in addition to what was in the palate. In short, I like it. If you'd like, I can see if I can send you a sample

Yep Chisox was right on. It's only distributed in like 10 states and missouri isn't one of them so I had to pony up for it when I saw it at Binnys.

Hey Chisox have you had any luck finding Little Book 4 yet? I checked a few places this week and nothing yet. I will keep my eyes open for you.

    #7445 3 years ago

Hit a variety of stores the past few days and not seeing anything exciting at all. Only interesting things I saw were some Old Carter Rye (tremendous) and a bottle or 3 of Lone Whisker. Besides @kcz, is anybody seeing anything? Maybe it's just the time of year, but nothing exciting here. I even looked for all of the tater stuff that you guys like just to send your way and outside of one lone bottle of Eagle Rare, nada.

    #7446 3 years ago

Other than that bottle of Old Fitz I got last week and the Bomberger's this week there hasn't been a ton of stuff I've seen that I wanted. There are a whole bunch of things I have no interest in: The new Dickel Bottled in Bond 11 year is all over the place, lots of McKenna, Booker's Boston Batch (I will buy once I see it at Costco for $65, not paying the $80+ price that it is selling for at most stores), Woodford Rye and Double Oak barrel picks, Jack Daniels Single Barrel Limited Eric Church edition (wtf). Things I am actively looking for: Little Book Chapter 4, Stag Jr. Batch 14, Elijah Craig Toasted Barrel, Maker's 46 Cask Strenght. Also, I am in desperate need of another bottle of EH Taylor Straight Rye. I was positive I had another bottle so was just drinking away on the one I had open, then I looked at the back of the shelf and the bottle I thought was another rye turned out to be another small batch!
