    What about this saturday night?

    #7102 3 years ago

If folks are available, sure! If not, we will do a few weeks from now

    #7103 3 years ago

I’m good most Saturdays. This week will work for me

    #7104 3 years ago
    Quoted from DBLM:

Sample folks, do you prefer the 15th or 22nd?
Of course, we can do ordinary drinking and zooming before that time.

either but 22 is slightly better

Take it you are out for this Saturday?

    could do this sat

So I am hearing me, Bill, Hilton, Aaron are available Saturday. That leaves John, Steve, Don, and Scott. Let’s see where this winds up.

    #7108 3 years ago

Looking to buy some sample bottles- does anyone have preferred ones that are available on Amazon? Glass or plastic?

    #7109 3 years ago
    Quoted from Whysnow:

also... status check on Bowz... is he in a still of pearless somewhere?

Haha. Been dealing with utter nonsense the past few weeks, but I’m around. Saturday is a maybe depending on baseball.
Picked up some good stuff recently though-didn’t mean to throw that ipa pic in, but it is good.

    nice!

did you find that just sitting on the shelf?

Nope. Long story short, a buddy has a close buddy in Michigan who owns a bar, and the guy said he was never gonna use all the bottles he had, so he sold him 5, and sold me one of them. 5 years of hunting for it, and I luck out with a bs conversation by a fire.
    I’ll take it though!!!

    that is awesome!

Many will bag on it... I really enjoy the 10year and the 12year (Lot B) is porbably top 3 of all time.

    #7113 3 years ago

For $100, I’ll take my chances with how good it is.
Been loading up on peerless and old Ezra 7, which are both fantastic. Also got a smoke wagon private barrel, which is rocket fuel but is fantastic.

I bought these. Do not recommend the plastic ones. Was in the process of sending out samples and the leaked. Lesson learned.

Nice pick up! When do you think you will know about baseball?

Let’s see what Fulltilt and SirScott look like for Saturday. If they are good, I think we have a quorum and we push ahead this week. Thoughts?

What are you paying for Old Ezra 7, if you don't mind me asking? I got a bottle when it was first released and it was $40 at a store in another state, it was not yet distributed here, that was about a year and a half ago. It just hit the Minnesota market this week and the lowest I've seen it is $53 at Total Wine, smaller stores are charging $60-$65.

    #7117 3 years ago

All this talk of Old Ezra inspired me to break the seal on this one

$50 on the old Ezra with numerous bottles on the shelf.

That was a huge score at a different Kenwood store than I normally going to. $90. Bourbon guy said to me “you for sure want this”. My response “yes please”.

Damn you lucky bastards. You and Chisox pull some bad ass bottles out of those chi-town stores.

    #7121 3 years ago

Damn this bottles almost gone. This 18yr I really really enjoyed.

Old Ezra seems to really hit the area lately... used to find a bottle or two behind the counter now they are on the shelves by the dozen or so. Good stuff.

    #7123 3 years ago

    Now I can open B520.

Damn good pour and surprisingly smooth for 116 proof. Sometimes you have to roll the dice on the craft distilleries and super glad I did on this one.

Regular Wyoming whiskey is as bad of a whiskey I’ve ever had. Glad to see they fixed the higher proof stuff.

Matt, you are host and sample provider.....
I suggest picking a Saturday or 2 or 3 in the future....

Hitting the dock tomorrow in N.E. TN.

It’s between 50 and 60 here. Kenwood I think charges $53 which is where bowz usually shops.

Can’t wait to get your opinion on those. Going to pick up some from there Sunday for my birthday.

I see you got the samples. Did you want to do those Saturday or wait a few weeks?

    #7130 3 years ago

Finally cracked open this bad boy and I like it a lot. Very smooth. They put tasting notes on the side of the bottle, which I concur with. First time I am seeing notes listed on a bottle. Is anybody else doing that?

We can wait till there is more of a consensus if you like.

I am indeed playing Hook. Love this game!

It sounds like we have a variety of folks ready for Saturday night for tasting. What time works? 9 PM EDT? I can do whatever.

Anyone else enjoy Makers Mark? Love the taste, affordability, and availability. I have no time or budget to be looking for rare bourbons. Makers is my go to, love the carmel sweetness flavor.

Nothing wrong with a bottle of Maker's Mark. I rarely buy it, can get a bottle of Maker's 46 for a few bucks more and I prefer it to the regular bottle. I also always keep a bottle of Cask Strength on hand, and I've had bottles of Private Select that are as good as anything out there.

Not at all. There are some higher proof things in there and some different things. I will say that sample E is a rye and is off the beaten path.
