I'll add Blue Note to my mental list. The Heaven's Hill that I picked up for the crew has been a hit.

That HH bib is very good stuff for sure. Everyone I have let try it has been very happy with it.

Wow! I wouldn't steer you guys wrong you need this bottle. I know nothing about it other than a friend sent me a review on it and said I needed it. Boy was he right. Pretty sure next thing i'm gonna need is a sip of that EC B520 @SirScott

I see a lot of you giving high praise to Peerless, so I’m itching to give it a try. Unfortunately I can’t find it anywhere, only the rye. Is the rye worth it, it’s not cheap around here...

Do you want me to send you back a sample of the Peerless bourbon?

    #6655 3 years ago

Moving on to the EC A120

I actually prefer the Rye to the Bourbon. Both are good, but the Rye is terrific. It is spicy but smooth, and has a spicy heat to it. I buy it for about $120 a bottle, so that might be a good benchmark.

All this talk about Peerless made me pour two fingers. It has mellowed out a lot since I tried it the other week and I like it a bunch. I did just try it compared to the Rye and I still stick by my guns that as good as both are, that I prefer the aRye even more.

A two finger Matt pour equals a whole hand Steve pour..... is this what I’m hearing?

I agree that Peerless Rye better than the bourbon but both very good.

It’s all good Steve. One day, when you need me to crush a diamond or to hold tectonic plates together to keep Illinois from sinking into the ground or rip the door off a burning tour bus full of Maxim models in order to free them, my glorious hands and I will be there on the double!

I will put you down for a review copy of "Big Hands, Bigger Gloves: An Erotic Memoir." It has foldouts, pop ups and everything!

I would imagine bowz is in line for copy number 1 of the special edition leather bound hardcover personally signed to him right? And I'm sure you're going to put your hand on the inside cover and trace it also

Definitely early! At one time in my life I had a 4am start time. Never want that again!
Just finished eating dinner. Made scampi Salmon...so good! I’m ready for bed after all that butter

A little Bookers Shiny Batch to ease into the evening. . And to settle the controversy for @green-machine, I poured two fingers, and then measured it with my jigger. In that glass, two fingers is about 6.5 ounces.

This tastes to me like a good batch of Bookers. I like it but I remember batch 2 being transcendent. But who knows, it’s so hard to compare and contrast whiskey without doing a side by side or a blind.

Edit: Still working on that 17 yr WT @beergut666. It’s a guy in my bourbon club who I haven’t seen for a while but am giving some RR samples to which may light a fire under his butt.

Got my B520 today, probably gonna wait to crack it til the weekend though. The store I got it from also had a few bottles of Russell's Single Barrel Rye, I'll end up going back for one of those since the Rare Breed Rye has yet to drop here.

Love to hear the reviews on Rare Breed Rye.
Looks like it’s popping up in our area. Might try to get find it tomorrow

All this talk of Little Book 2 made me pour a glass. It is truly fantastic. Crazy they mixed it with a 40 yo Canadian Whisky.

It’s got a really sharp pepper note that stays through the finish that really makes it drink like a 130 plus proofer. After two pours it actually reminds me more of a good Knob Creek store pick than Bookers. It’s good but totally different from what I remember of ch. 2 which tasted nothing like anything I’d ever had from the Beam/Bookers/KC lineup.

    #6698 3 years ago

2 has that cinnamon vanilla flavor that is a little warm on the tongue but finishes smooth. I really do get the Canadian whisky flavor with it. I agree, it tastes like nothing else in the family.

    #6699 3 years ago

This is one of my faves.... Before my collection got very big.

F it. Been sitting on this for a while but figured tonight was a good as night as any. Knob Creek 25th Anniversary. 122 proof barreled in 2004. Has a cinnamon KC flavor up front and a super smooth finish. One of the best Beam products I have ever had. I don’t know how to describe the bouquet other than warm. Really something special here. Highly recommended.
