Virginia is limiting the amount of bourbon you can buy based upon supply constraints. Interesting list of what is limited.

I am limited to Zero on a good number of these in Georgia!

Here’s to my guy PinDeLaPin for setting me up with an OF SiB store pick that I’d never get to try without his help. Happy thirsty Thursday boys, cheers!

Yeah if you’re grabbing one of those on the list you’re doing well. People seeing stuff and clearing the shelf to horde or sell is what’s making this hobby start to suck. I have a shit ton of whiskey but only two, maybe three, bottles that are backups.

Yeah it's getting really old dealing with these shitheads. I stopped in at one of my spots yesterday and this guy is really good about not letting people buy more than 2 or 3 at the most of something. While he was out one of his workers let a guy buy a whole case of the middle bottle of smoke wagon and he was pissed. I was really pissed because thats what I was stopping in to buy since it is the only one I ever see.

Nice! Let us know your thoughts. I love Pact 4 but as I found out with Hilton, Pact 5 was not my favorite.

    I would take 4, then 6, then 5

This pact 6 is mighty tasty. Never had any of the pact 4

    A few questions...

Kentucky Owl 12yr? Bourbon... typical price and worth it?

    Old Medley 12... same question

I have not seen these in a while and they popped up. Trying to figure out if they are worth grabbing and reasonable price.

    Thx guys

Friday/Rye Day is on hold once again, at least for a bit. Starting with another side by side, the newer Baker's single barrel vs the old Baker's blend. I went into a store I never shop in with the intention of only buying a bag of ice in case I feel the need to make margaritas at 3am again. This was the only liquor store open in about an 8 mile radius of my home today. I was surprised to see the single barrel on the shelf for $38, couldn't pass it up.

    Random thought while drinking...

Love the flavor profile and spice of WT Rare Breed. Also love the distinct flavors of any Wild Turkey. Brings back memories of college life!!! Pink Floyd, Rush, and an occasional hangover??

I have not tried either of these, but I’ve seen Different Kentucky Owl’s on the shelf and never purchased one-for me, $200 is a tough buy when there’s so many great choices around 50-70. The Old Medley I haven’t seen around, but I haven’t looked that hard for it either.

On a side note, baseball tourney got cancelled, so I can do that Zoom tasting tonight if everyone else can.

I googled Kentucky owl 12 and found nothing. Do you have a picture? I have batch 9,not confiscated,so that specific bottle is all I can help you with.
There are lots of you tube videos out there but I still can’t find this ‘12”

Hilton i've only had the KO confiscated which I think is very good but is most likely an MGP product and have only ever seen a 12yr KO in a rye which has the green label. I have tried Old Medley but don't remember it being a ything memorable.

    #5817 3 years ago

Thx guys. Did not grab pic. Should have

I can no longer zoom tonight.

Sipping some Peerless Rye and cleaning the boat while listening to some tunes. Not a bad way to spend the afternoon.

Anybody else think the rocket launch was kick ass?

Stopped at a random small town liquor store for some beer after a family bike ride on the trails. Saw this sitting on the shelf for $70. It’s been about a year since I finished my last bottle of Bookers.

So true! We have some rioting in Dayton. People are throwing rocks and bottle Off overpasses at cars. Shooting up store fronts and looting.... people can be so dumb

    #5838 3 years ago

We are doing that In Denver too. Would suck to be black without a voice.

    #5839 3 years ago

Would also suck to be an innocent business owner who is already struggling only to have thugs loot and burn your business. There is NO excuse for violence!

    #5840 3 years ago

Agree all the way around. With that being said, the zoom is open!

    #5841 3 years ago

Come on guys join the zoom. Matt and I are online now

Recently picked up and loved the McKenzie BiB. Had an opportunity to grab a single barrel recently and cracked it open tonight. It's exceptional.

Meteor!!!! The pin that got me hooked!

    #5849 3 years ago

Have you had any of the McKenzie, or just not the single barrel? It's got a great wheated flavor with some really nice cherry sweetness on it. The higher proof of the single barrel really kicks that up a notch.

Haven't had much Weller since that's hard to get out here, but it reminds me a lot of the cask strength Maker's (which I also love), just a lot smoother with more interesting notes in it.
