    Quoted from PinDeLaPin:

What are your thoughts on it?

Honestly still a bit underwhelmed. Nice spiciness to it, but seemed a bit "one note" to me. I think of the Barrells, batch 18 is still my favorite. It had a lot more interesting things going on in it.

I think my favorite of the past year is still Elijah BP C919. I just picked up an A120, but haven't cracked it open yet.

The Peerless Rye is the cat’s pajamas! Really, really good shit. It is peppery but very smooth, and I taste it on the front of my tongue. It is lighter in taste compared to a lot of the bourbons I drink. If you like rye, I highly recommend it. I look forward to making a really kick ass Manhattan with this.

Damn-I thought this stuff would last longer in Florida...

One, and bought one down here(shocked I found it). The Peerless was $70 at the place I went to, and they had Stagg Jr for $300 and Stagg for $700....good lord.
Please don’t figure out how good Peerless is bourbon yuppies...

WOW! The hype is real! So smooth it’s scary. Almost as impressive as the Archives..

Friday is normally rye day here, but I got these two Buffalo Trace store picks in the last week and I figure it's best to try them side by side before I drink anything else tonight. I'm still gonna get into some rye at some point tonight.

Big purchases today from Total Wine, single beer bottles, wine, margaritas, 2 12 packs Cheap beer that I always liked from back in the day, a few single Ciders and 1 15 pack ciders for my honey bunny, 4 cigars, and of course 4 new bottles of whiskey. Here is one pic not everything included but total bill after tax was big $599. As usual this store always gets me and you guys influenced me to buy and try new ones. Will let know the results.

Haven’t seen my brother since February due to work and something else I can’t quite put my finger on. We usually hang at least every other weekend (he lives 5 mins away and is a pinball junkie). Just shared some bourbon with my bro (and some Tron) and god damn did that feel good. Cheers.

Someone said it’s quite tonight but not for me. Here is my last glass after the others and had one glass 1792 but ending it with Bib n tucker, still not sold on this one yet. Any thoughts from you all?

Also as cleaning through the pantry discovered these two bottles with little in it and appeared to have gone bad. Never seen this before, let me know your thoughts. The gold label I have had since around 2003 or so maybe before 2007 whenever it came out based on my memory. I tried to bye all the gold label Jack bottles when they came out and sat on my shelves for years Then drank them. Had them all but appears only a drop left in the last bottle I have of them gone bad. Oh well. Off to the new maybe next week, enjoy ya all. Also posted one more close up of the news one, all never tried except the EC long time ago.

I pay $48 for it, but Minnesota is famously reasonable with prices on alcohol. I'm a big fan of higher proof rye whiskey so Willett hits all the notes for me. It's definitely not to everyone's taste though. If you don't especially care for drinking it straight up you will have a fantastic bottle to make cocktails with, the spiciness of rye adds some depth to drinks like a Manhattan or a Boulevardier.

Doing some manly work. Might have to drink some manly beverages later.

I'm still trying to generate enough energy to move from my desk to the couch... I may go buy a smoker today, so that counts as being productive enough to warrant some stiff pours later, right?

No stumps this time. 4x4s driven one with rebar. Dirty work, but much easier with this. This jack and tripod has been the greatest thing I learned from YouTube.

What is a fair value to assign to Eagle Rare? Hard to find in Georgia. Working on a trade. Isn’t MSRP 30-35? Is 40 a fairer value considering scarcity? Is it as good as some say? Thanks in advance for the feedback.

It's been a favorite of mine for years, but over the last few it has become a little harder to come by unfortunately, and the price is creeping up as well. If I see a bottle for under $35 it's an instant buy, I think I'd pass at $40+ unless it was a store pick, but that's just me. I also don't think that a trade value of $40 is unreasonable, especially if it is something that you want that is not easy to find in your area.

It's generally $45 a bottle anymore when and if I see it. Sometimes you just gotta pay a little more for something that you can't get yourself. As long as it's not some super exorbitant amount that the tradee is looking for.

    #5741 3 years ago

I really appreciate the feedback. I will swap for a FR Sib store pick that I picked up for 40 but I can get more of those.
