I woke up ok also-only because I exited stage left. If I would’ve stayed it would have round 2 of being an idiot.
I’m absolutely NOT pouring any damn Peerless next time...

Famous last words
Quoted from TKDalumni:Did I do that vertical thing right last night?

Certainly appears so
Little cloudy today but not too bad. I certainly don’t feel like doing my chore for the day, swapping out a toilet in my kids bathroom.
Gonna try my first attempt at smoking some wings today. And while they are smoking, I get to put together my new 36” griddle.
First up, the wings just got dropped into the smoker.

Second, I started putting the griddle together.

Third, I’m doing some super thick sous vide steaks tonight, so just dropped them into the water bath.

Lastly, it’s time to take a break and enjoy a libation while the wings finish smoking.

Quoted from DBLM:I botched. Checked the store and it was just the barrel strength of the EC, not the 18. Sorry for getting everybody spun up.
On Bill’s recommendation, I did pick up a bottle of Barrel. Price was 90 bucks. Is that a good price?
[quoted image]
Pretty much the same price I see.

I hope thats a good one Matt I was only talking about the 18yr Barrel Bourbon. Let us know your thoughts on that one.
Wings are done. Great flavor. Tossed one batch in the world famous Old Bay hot sauce. The other was Texas Pete.
Oh yeah, the sous vide steaks are done too. Badass.

Will do. The reviews on it have been good.

Perfectly cooked! Nice job
Quoted from DBLM:Not bourbon related but a shiny, brand new 20,OOO pound boat lift was just dropped off a few mins ago. It will be installed sometime in the next few days. Another step closer to sipping bourbon on the boat![quoted image]
Where do the crabs fit into this scenario?
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Where do the crabs fit into this scenario?
The crabs go into this pot after I stuff it full of chicken necks and throw it off my dock. We are behind where we normally should be weather wise but should be warming up soon. Need th water temp to get up to about 55 degrees so the crabs will get active. Soon.

Quoted from FYMF:Also not bourbon related except for fact I've killed a few 4 Rose's working on her this week.[quoted image][quoted image]
Nice! What's the story on this?

I want to see another pic of that crab trap stuffed full here in another week or so Matt. Of course with a glass of celebratory bourbon also in the pic somewhere
Quoted from DBLM:Nice! What's the story on this?
Barn find.
Sitting in a barn since 1987.
Older buddy of mine wrecked his mothers new Toyota Landcruiser. Rolled it 3 times drunk while jumping a ditch as a junior in HS.
His pops wouldntnpay to repairs the body even though frame, mechanical everything else was fine.
His pops took a seized 48 jeepster. Chopped the body. Stretched and heightened it and put it on top a landcruiser everything. With 14,500 original miles....
Anyway. 2,000 $ later she is mine.
Wait till next month when I show you my 47' studebaker champion convertible barn find. <31000 miles. 100% original. Even has after market studebaker parts still in the box
Quoted from DBLM:Sweet! Thanks for the story. Look forward to seeing the studebaker.
I posted in another thread but if you appreciate oldies you may also enjoy this as well.

AWESOME!!! Amphicar!
Quoted from Grandnational007:AWESOME!!! Amphicar!
Thanks much. She was swimming in the Hillsborough River just about 6 months ago but I think she will be getting the garage and dehumidfyer treatment for a few years
Quoted from beergut666:Changing it up a bit. I usually crack a couple of beers while grilling, tonight I decided on a cocktail. This Sazerac Rye makes a damn fine Boulevardier.[quoted image]
Just looked this drink up. I have and like all the ingredients, not sure why I’ve never had one before. Cheers!

It's my favorite cocktail, basically a Negroni with whiskey instead of gin. Mix one up and let me know what you think!
Has anyone tried Booker’s “Granny’s batch 2020-1” yet? Looks pretty strong at 126 proof, so wondering if it’s any good/smooth

I have.. it’s a hot one burnt peanut goodness. Not my favorite Booker but still pretty tasty
Quoted from trudert9:Side by side last night. Buffalo Trace products get a ton of hype, but I really think Turkey is tremendously underrated. Russell’s is really smooth, rare breed brings a nice heat and spice. Edge goes to rare breed in my book.[quoted image]
Shhhhh. Turkey is trash, Buffalo Trace is where it’s at.
Quoted from PinDeLaPin:Chisox if you were here i'd plant a big smoochy kiss right on your cheek. This bad boy just showed up and man am I stoked. Gonna have to wait till tomorrow to try it but i'm sure I will be having some sweet dreams about it.[quoted image]
You’ll love that stuff-it’s great.

Now that’s a solid Tuesday night!

Can’t wait to hear how good another bottle of something I can’t score is!
Still dreaming of Stagg jr bottle in my collection and the smoke wagon unfiltered too. Was in Kentucky briefly yesterday stopped at a couple shops but no Stagg jr

Yeah this is how I feel a lot of times also but thankfully reaching out and making friends with a lot of guys on here opens up a trade Network that can get you a bottle that you are really looking for. I've had a bunch of people send me bottles and me send them bottles
