Just picked up a SWE1 machine and I managed to get the computer booting the game off the Prism card. It seems to be running fine. Although the cable between the audio card and the prism board is missing, but that seems to be a one way cable and will keep the sound from working.

The problem is that the driver board is not getting all the signals to reset the watchdog and disable the blanking. When I probe the signals on the board I see the STROBE but the INIT never changes state. Without INIT the data is never clocked through U7 and can never reset the watchdog. I also see the Data lines changing states.

I have swapped cables.

The only thing left is to probe inside the computer motherboard.

Has anyone seen this problem before?

I have ordered a replacement IC for the super IO chip that drives the parallel port. Before I do something extreme, has anyone diagnosed parallel port pin problems on a pinball 2000 system?
