Mine definitely lists Gottlieb V1 at boot, I recall the setting save procedure was not straightforward and required using a different button. Also, what firmware are you running? The issues you describe are definitely not normal. You may have better luck with support in the general pin2DMD thread...
It's not a ColorDMD, but rather Pin2DMD which is separate hardware. At this time ColorDMD does not support this game. Pin2DMD is more of a DIY type experience...
So has anyone tried these files with an earlier (non Rev 3) ROM? Or are they known to be specific to that version only? I definitely need to update my DMD firmware, but wasn't sure if both are needed.

Though I did get the castles, and most of the question mark working on the V1 ROM...just too many new keyframes to get for the slot and the other stuff, and you work too fast to try and continue
