I am getting a baywatch with a pin2dmdxl already installed. It looks like it just has the 4 color template on it. What are the steps to getting it to the full color release?

Look at post #1 in this thread - follow the link to the files and download the .pal and .fsq files. Put those 2 files on the microSD card - turn on the machine - and it should boot up in color. As far as "full color" - you be the judge.

You also have to check the firmware version and should upgrade if necessary following the instructions on pin2dmd.com.
Can someone confirm the code versions they are using for Baywatch with Pin2DMD XL? I updated to 4.01 code and 4.00 display but still have multiple non-colorized scenes. Any help is appreciated!
Quoted from JellyNeck:Yea. I'm not confident that there will be any more updates. Neat...
I am Received this and others from a forum member. Now needs only to be integrated into Malenkos project
I ran out of steam on Baywatch, I colored *so* much in a short amount of time. I was going to pick back up on it to fill in the blanks, but I still haven't received the XL Pin2DMD I ordered to check coloring. Right now I'm going to try and fix the last few things wrong with LW3 (like the match game, and the Riggs wins fight mini game)
Quoted from Malenko:but I still haven't received the XL Pin2DMD I ordered to check coloring.
Did you order it from Dom? Give it another 3 mo with no contact. Lol. JK. Kinda.
We love you malenko!
Quoted from Malenko:I just pinged dmod about maybe coloring for ColorDMD (2nd times the charm!)
You are a talented colouring artist... I hope that works out for you this time around.

That is so facepalm.
I thought he finally claimed that all ordering / production issues were over now, as he had help?

Thanks, me too.
Can someone create a very small and simple pallete changing session with windows and Pin2DMD editor (around version 2.4.3). I have all sorts of issues when clicking keyframes, duration or switching or anything. Seems very picky on order of doing things. I also need to export to vni & pal file for VP. I have issues with this also. I have had some success, but hard to replicate and it never seems the same. Thanks guys really love baywatch color dmd (even though I don't like the machine)
I know this is a really old topic but I just was working on my Baywatch and the pin2dmd. I updated to the newest firmware and that seemed to have corrected most color issues but it still isn't 100%. if you look at the picture, its the only non color screen. also when it triggers the spf screen the upper left looks weird. I really would like to color that screen but am lost on how. I tried downloading the pindmd editor but not having any luck, I have a Mac so not sure If I can even do it. is there a updated file for the color dmd somewhere? other than the ones on the first page of this thread? thanks in advance

Which picture ?

Did you download the latest version and read the tutorial ?
Have a look here https://pin2dmd.com/#5
If you want anyone else to do it a dump with the scene would be very helpful. How to create a dump is described under 5.1 here https://pin2dmd.com/editor/
That scene is colorized and those TV converted animations never look as good as Comic Style animations
Quoted from Seth1977:(...) if you look at the picture, its the only non color screen. (...)
On my Baywatchs Pin2DMD several scenes, graphics and animations still are non-colored. Which Pin2DMD-files do you use on your device?
Hello all, I'm brand new to this Pin2DMD stuff. A friend of mine brought me his Baywatch today to do some minor repairs on. He told me that he wanted to get the full color package for his Pin2DMD and showed me a small box with something inside that he thinks may help. Does this need to be installed or do I just need to update files?
Sorry just really new to all of this. Wanted to see if this was something easy. Pics attached for reference to my current situation.

My photo shows the PinDmd 1.01 so I cant just update the firmware via the microSD card. Right?
I'm having a lot of trouble with the MAC files.
You need a ST-Link on a windows PC to update the software with the STM ST-Link software.
For Mac I found this link using google
https://forum.microej.com/t/flash-flashing-stm32-boards-from-a-linux-mac-os-environment/46
I never tried it but I would follow the instructions from here https://github.com/stlink-org/stlink
The firmware file for your hardware you need to upload is here https://github.com/lucky01/PIN2DMD/blob/master/firmware/latest/CUSTOM_XL/pin2dmd_XL.bin
Good thing is after you updated to the latest version you are able to use the SD card update feature in the future.

Hey friends I just got a pin2dmd and loving it so far but noticed both video modes don’t really have a coloration. I’m thinking of trying my hand at colorizing some screens. Does anyone know there is updates that has video mode colorations? Pretty sure I have the latest version. Thanks
Hey folks I was going to attempt to do some work on this project, but I don’t have a pc so I can’t install pinmame, and I don’t have the Baywatch ROM to do the initial dump. If anyone has the dump already please let me know. thanks

Have you already checked the project folder on the shared folder? I thought that it had all the files along with the associated dumps
Thanks but no, those are only the pin2dmd output / executable files for the accrual display… unless I’m missing something
Edit: yea I was missing something! There where in there thank you I’ll see what I can do here
Quoted from Soulrider911:well, I might be able to figure this out... the software definately has a learning curve... and still have no clue what method is best as it seems there are multiple ways to tackle any given scene. Here is my first stab at it
[quoted image]
Looks like you nailed the learning curve. Scene is perfect.
