Happy I stumbled upon this, I buy these types of RGB matrixes for other arduino type projects (mostly xmas and halloween decorations) so this definitely interests me. (I am a software engineer myself, so I am happy to contribute/help)

Is there a main pin2dmd thread somewhere?

I see on the site that it supports stern spike.. this is intriguing since I have a GB premium on the way and my one of my main gripes is lack of color (or LCD) for the dots. So does pinball-browser support the spike linux ROM image? (if not, what would be the way to colorize a spike game?)

Would be awesome if I could get this working, I would add this to my TZ and TSPP as well in a heartbeat.

Quoted from lucky1:

Spike can be colorized using pinball browser and inframe palette switching!
The main forum for pin2dmd is on vpuniverse.com since it started as a vpin project.

So i downloaded pinball-browser and the GB premium .spk from stern, but in the release notes for pb browser it says the communications patch can't be installed on spike games, is this because it is not needed to colorize?

When trying to colorize a frame, it says you have to setup smartDMD first, but im not using a smartDMD, I would be using pin2dmd, correct?

Are there any how to's regarding these pieces?

Cheers

Sorry to hijack this thread, haha, only a few more Q's:

So if it is using in-frame coding, do we not need to install the communications patch into the firmware for a spike game for this to work?
