I just bought a working back up computer for my Pin2000 games, I already had 2 complete computers, 1 for each playfield (same cabinet) and I was a little worried that if something broke down eventually, I would be in trouble, especially the prism card and motherboard.
Well I just received the computer and noticed that it's different from my 2 others, the motherboard is not at all the same, anyone know why it's different, completely different?
It works great.

Lots of info on this page : http://www.pinball2000.de/
Apparently at least 3 different motherboards were used for these games : http://web.archive.org/web/20080311124254/http://www.pinrepair.com/pin2000/#mother

4 motherboards:

These motherboards have the same chipset, so they are basically the same, even if the location of components are shuffled around somewhat.

The reason why multiple brands/models were used is likely because they were off-the-shelf hardware, and it came down to availability and pricing at the time when they were needed.

I did'nt know that Williams used 4 different types of motherboards, very interresting.
