15 kids and 61 grown up kids competed in the first Pin a Go Go
tournament. The top 8 in Open and Novice got plaques and prizes. Top
4 kids got prizes and the first 10 kids to enter got mini plaques for
participating. There was also a box of STERN keyfobs that all
entrants could choose from.
Playland not at the Beach, Pacific Pinball Museum, Pinball Video
(Pinball 101 and Pinball Collector) and STERN donated prizes to the
event.
As a side thing we did a Steve Ritchie Haiku contest to win a STERN
Rolling Stones translite. I was also supposed to raffle off a t-shirt
from Pacific Pinball Museum featuring artwork by Dirty Donny, but I
forgot, so I will throw that in with the translite. I emailed all the
entries to Steve and he will pick the one he likes best. However, I
must say that if I learned anything from this exercise it's that
pinball players are really bad poets. Here is an example:
Is pinball like cheese?
It goes great with some crackers
Please give me a beer
The full write-up will be on pinballnews pretty soon, but here's the
raw results. Big congrats to our Open Division winner playing in his
first tournament ever.
DON'T FORGET: The next Bay Area tournament will be at Pizza Depot in
Sunnyvale on May 28th.
KIDS DIVISION
1 Josh Faith
2 Nathan Rosta
3 Adom Scroth
4 Paloma Freitas
Some kids did not pick up their mini plaques for participating. I
will email/phone those people and USPS those out.
Here's a picture of Josh Faith. Josh took home a Transformers pinball
game, a video from Randy and Keith, a 1-day entry to Pacific Pinball
Expo in September, a family gift certificate to Playland not at the
Beach and a 1st place plaque. Congrats!
